Inflation increase vs cost of living

She is suggesting this but it sounds like the same thing to me

My bet it the Washington criminal organization will do both. AND keep pumping out "vaccines" for every cough and sniffle in an attempt to lower the pool of payees.

So, although I paid in for 45 years, someone is going to determine if I get my money back...while also taxing me on money that has already been taxed?

Politicians who glibly talk about raising the retirement age to 70 have no idea how hard the working class works.

The uniparty is not for the working class. Period.

The detached politics reflect detached lifestyles

Most of these politicians are second generation politicians or children of successful corporate elites. Actual working class issues are something they read about or see in movies.

Prep schools are focused on replicating elite skills and work to maintain power, which is where these people come from.

Really?

I have no idea what this is referencing. I actually don't hate the fact that her handlers are accepting her tanked candidacy and steering her to float such a thing. I understand why people who would hope to win an election NOW can't do such a thing. It doesn't mean I have to like it. I don't like much at all about the political reality of the moment, though.

Currently 73 years for men and 79 years for women.

Ill save your breath on the next logical question - no one is going to suggest men should be eligible earlier than women. But we must fix the gender pay gap.

This is to shorten payouts term and increase receipts of taxes paid by taxpayers so government can spend more

So did America getting insanely obese. Next time you are in the supermarket take a count percentage of how many people are overweight and obese. I actually live in one of the less obese areas of the US now and the average percentage I get is 70%

Yeah, I go shopping every day and the most obese people are the ones paying with food stamps. When I was a kid the poor people were thinner than the rich people.

She is right, social security was a terrible idea to begin with but it was not intended to support people clinging to death for 20 years. Unless we are going to let it totally collapse, which im also fine with, the age has to go up when you collect. If you are 45 or younger and were ever expecting to get social security you were not paying attention

Inconvenient facts for big government Republicans, which apparently is a large and growing faction of the Right.

These fricktards here just want candidates to say, “frick you liberals!” They don’t have the slightest care about policy improvements! They will scream, “the liberals let this default happen by allowing in non-payers.” And that is true. But they don’t care about a solution that might work. They’d cry about the problem until it was unsurmountable. Then cry that the problem IS insurmountable.

Inflation caused by runaway government spending is the biggest threat to the majority of Americans' retirement plans. How about we get that shite under control before talking about raising FICA.

You don't start out by assuming that you are entitled for the US government to put you in a financial position to not have to.

My point was about non-SS plans. For example, would the federal government then start adjusting when you can start withdrawing from your 401k?

Uh Nikki, life expectancy is decreasing. It's at the lowest point in two decades.

And it’s way higher than it was when SS was conceived. She is right. We must raise the retirement age. And the sooner we do it the less we’ll have to raise it.
