I don't buy Nike products But if you know anything about sports apparel

It’s apparent that you like to chime in on subjects you know little about. Of course, Google is your best friend.

Regarding their flagship shoe products, they are inferior in quality to comparably priced shoes. They just aren’t durable.

There are plenty of American products that surpass the quality and durability of Nike shoes …. so their stock price is no surprise at all.

I find it interesting that they didn't buy enough consumer loyalty with all the many, many millions they shoveled to certain sports stars to wear the swoosh

From AI

It is one of the most recognizable brand logos in the world, and the most valuable
.
They paid a graphic designer $35 for it originally.

But if you know anything about sports apparel then you know there are other players in that market chipping away at Nike market share. Brands like Hoka, On, Lulu Lemon, and others are starting to get seats at the table.

Nikes political ads is why these companies have been able to chip away. People are fatigued over it and look elsewhere.

Thinking that's the only reason is silly though

Would those brands be as able to sneak in here if Nike didn’t alienate so many for so long?

(I mostly agree with you, btw)

I think so

It was inevitable that more competition would move into the market

Sometimes these behemoth brands rest on their laurels too long. As populations expand up and comers tend to find niches. Happens in many industries, not just apparel.

There are a number of reasons why Nike stock has slumped. It's not as simple as "go woke, go broke".
I haven’t bought a single Nike product in well over a decade, probably since the Kapernick endorsement.

I won’t buy Nike products even if they’re discounted to pennies on the dollar, and I’m sure there are tens of millions of people in the US just like me.

Don’t fricking pretend like that is not good for a company’s bottom line. It’s hurting them and we all know it.

Most of their products are very good, but I moved on to Under Armour and Adidas and avoid Nike.

They are a long way away from peak Nike marketing, which was this amazing commercial moment courtesy of Tiger Woods. They both are totally broken now and need major repair to themselves for the damage they've done to themselves.

I agree

Add a product quality issue(I see talk of it very often).

Lulu Lemon seems to be speed running that problem too.

Kids can't afford $250 sneakers anymore when diesel is $6/gallon.
