The dumbass liberals won't believe a word of this until they have to live it.

The only people enjoying communism are the politicians enforcing it, aint nobody from the west leaving to hurry up to get to cuba or any other socialist/communist country

It's the progressives, but I know what you mean. In the bluest of cities (NY, L.A. Seattle, Portland, etc), the people who need help the most will suffer. The "rich" don't care. Most will continue to pay their high taxes like good sheeple. Some will just leave and take their wealth to Florida or Texas. That's a huge chunk of change to lose, and the cities make their budgets based on estimates. Their spending on social programs far exceeds what they bring in, even moreso now. Consequently, they can either raise taxes more (more people leave), or cut social programs. Eventually, and begrudgingly, they will have to do the latter. It's simple math.

That guy has a lot of guts to do that. I was in Havana in about 2014. It was about one week after Obama tried to normalize relations. I was followed everywhere I went by clandestine security. In my opinion, the security was trying to protect us as much as monitor us. At that time much depended on normalizing relations with the US, and they could not afford stories about American tourists getting attacked.

The Cuban population had been radicalized against the US. Most were very nice, but a few random people on the streets, when they realized we were Americans, got obnoxious. When that happened someone with the police would materialize from a doorway and run the guy off.

For Nick Shirley to be able to get away with as much as he did, and for those people to be willing to talk to him publicly, means that the security there has slipped precipitously. That has to bode well for the end times there.

In a recent interview he compared his visits to other Latin American countries (he speaks fluent Spanish). He said poor people in S. America are still trying to be happy. They smile and enjoy any music playing. But Cubans walk around looking extremely depressed.

I had the chance to go to Cuba a few years ago.

It doesn’t take long to see that outside of the tourist part of Havana and the govt buildings the country is totally impoverished. A lot of the old architecture is beautiful and basically crumbling.

My take away was that central govt is not capable of taking care of everything efficiently. It’s too much. You need individuals working to succeed and profit to grow and thrive at a real scale Ie capitalism.

Cuba would absolutely explode with success if given the chance. It’s a beautiful island.

Nick Shirley is just some punk kid, with an awkward demeanor and delivery. . .but he has been absolutely mogging the mainstream media, and even independent media, at an epic scale

This was my impression watching the video. The fact that anyone talked to them at all while they were using phones to record says a lot. The police there, secret or not, knew what they were doing but let it happen.
