Nick is a massive thorn in the machine’s side. And unlike Charlie, he’s both doing *real work & not fake trying to exterminate people who are mentally unstable.

I'm confused by this. What was not "real work" about Charlie?
Charlie's work for conservatism on college campuses can hardly be overestimated. And perhaps more so than any single person, he was responsible for Trump's win.

OK, I tried to explain it, probably inarticulately, but all Charlie did was just try to talk to people. He wasn’t really messing with the machine’s livelihood. Nick Shirley is.
Now you can say that Charlie was making people think, which is dangerous in itself, but Nick is directly targeting their income streams.

This is a dog whistle by Newsom. He has no intention of paying a reward or solving crimes. Anyone that understands how the corrupt Democrats operate should understand that this is a ploy to get in front of corruption scandals before they become public.
Once people report the crimes, the Democrats will take remediation measures to cover the crimes and change the process to eliminate the chain of evidence.
Someone like Shirley should also respond asking Newsome to list the top 10 crimes his state has solved and convicted since he has been governor. Call him out and force him to acknowledge how prosecuting crimes has been under his non leadership.
