Democratic New York Gov. Kathy Hochul warned that her state is "just getting started" on gun restrictions after the Supreme Court struck down a state gun control measure Thursday.

quote:

Hochul went on to state that she is "prepared to go back to muskets" through gun restrictions.

quote:

"This decision isn't just reckless. It's reprehensible. It's not what New Yorkers want. And we should have the right of determination of what we want to do in terms of our gun laws in our state."

Since when were leftist so concerned with state rights???

What's going to happen when NY blatantly ignores the SCOTUS ruling? While Hochul didn't outright state that they were going to ignore the ruling, she might as well have by stating that NY is "just getting started" on gun restrictions. The next step for the leftists is to blatantly ignore SCOTUS rulings, and this one might be primed for that next step.

No you shouldn’t. Not when the constitution explicitly states you can’t.

Dumbass.

But yet. They raise hell at the idea of a state restricting abortion which isn't even a legitimate constitutional right.

National divorce is the only solution. As a Christian I only advocate the peaceful way. But I see it ending otherwise unfortunately.

So in the next seven days when abortion is returned to the states, that will be a travesty, right Governor?

Good luck with that.
Just wait until SCOTUS strikes down CA's ban on "high capacity" magazines.

Exactly. I can't remember ever hearing a leftist cry out for states' rights like that. As a matter of a fact, their number 1 goal is total national law. The fact that they have been hammering national law with abortion, to only cry for state law now that a constitutional right has been ruled on, only proves how insane they really are. I'm sure there are dem strategists shaking their heads right now that she even mentioned states' rights.

D.C. attempted to circumvent Heller for years afterwards. It took successive lawsuits to beat them into compliance and it will be the same for New York and other states that will cling to the failed "may issue" doctrine. These left-wing nutjobs talk tough but they will be bent into compliance eventually.

They are clueless tards. They are STILL protesting at SCOTUS judges homes (in violation of federal law) over abortion going to the states… now days later… this?

Emotional gobbledygook. When it comes to the Supreme Court leftists almost NEVER mention the Constitution. They just make moral arguments as though the Supreme Court's job is to be God.

The ultimate goal of the court's decision is to be Constitutional. That's it, that's the sole job of the Supreme Court. "Bad" laws can hypothetically be Constitutional, "Good" laws can be hypothetically be unconstitutional. Mind blowing concept leftists can't wrap their heads around.

They are a not a policy making body. They are not moral arbiters. It's not their job to try to "improve" things or do what their own personal opinion is "best".
