This country has gone to hell. Schools should not be handing out free breakfast and lunch. It breeds a culture of dependency and entitlement.

I just really don't understand how somebody convinced the Liberals to use taxpayer dollars to feed the children of dentists program managers and lawyers Etc just to avoid supposedly embarrassing the other kids by checking qualifications. That's been one hell of a neat trick

It’s not really free. It’s just taxpayer funded.
And honestly I don’t have a problem feeding kids. And I complain about plenty of stupid shite our tax money covers.

Maybe I'm wrong, but the school supply drives and giveaways piss me off. I'm supposed to buy these kids school supplies while their parents are walking around with the latest iPhone and won't buy any school items for their own child?

We already cover transportation and the actual education itself. I don’t have a problem feeding children. If you do then that’s fine.

And the message it sends to a kid when you can't be bothered to scramble two eggs for them. That's under $1.50 for free range eggs, ten cents for grass fed butter, about two minutes of your time, but you just can't manage it. Kids need to know that their parents GAF.

Nothing is free, just like all those stimulus checks. I remember people were all giddy about them, and they will pay a thousand fold for those checks through inflation that they caused

My wife works as a teacher. She gets so upset that a lot of the kids get "free" lunches. She doesn't get upset because they are "free" its because the kids will throw away all of the fruits and vegetables and only eat the cookies or the snacks they put on the tray, the rest, in the garbage.

I really don't either. They have to be there. Schools are taxpayer funded, i just don't see a problem with it. Im sure that in some areas most kids get free or reduced lunch amyway.
