I stopped believing or putting faith in polls as soon as President Trump was announced the winner.
Also, even if one were to believe polls, it makes complete and total sense that a candidate gets a heavy jump a few days after the announcement. It's the honeymoon phase and excites the base. One to two months ago, who knows what they look like and the excitement will have phased out by then.

Of course the messaging is already starting. It's easier to convince the masses that no cheating was going on if it looked like a close race to begin with. It's more believable that way. I would expect the polling yo be toed going into the election even though the margin of error should realistically read 5% or more.

I read a Reuters article this morning on Linkedin of all places that falsely claimed Kamala was a tough on crime prosecutor in California. I think the entire Reuters ecosystem is highly partisan toward the Democrat party and staunchly anti-Trump.

Eh, I'm not that surprised. I kind of figured there would be some initial poll spurt for Democrats just because they aren't running Biden anymore.

This board’s refusal to acknowledge legitimate concerns or digest bad news is so weird. Not everything is roses with the Trump campaign.
Realistically, he is still not a very popular candidate outside of his base and he needs to take steps to attract moderates and independents. He struggled doing that in 2020 and isn’t making any inroads this time around either.
Now, Kamala is not popular either but she might have a better shot at those moderates and independents who are turned off by Trump. Dems will turn out for her just to spite Trump. Naturally, this dropout of Biden is stealing headlines and bumping Kamala for now.
Trump still has real issues that no one here ever acknowledges. Especially, if Kamala starts to can get her meds right.
