re: New Reuters Poll — Kamala leads Trump 44-42 with Kennedy included.

quote:An example of what I was talking about. Trump outside of his base is an awful candidate. Kamala is awful but she will have a chance to steal moderates and independents just because of Trump refusing to not be Trump 100% of the time. These are real concerns for Trump and his campaign the next few months. And yes, a lot of Americans, if not most, do treat elections just like you said.
I'm sorry, but you are neither a moderate nor an independent if you vote for her. You're either a leftist masquerading as a moderate or you're treating a Presidential election like a high school student council race.

They show her leading Pennsylvania by 4 points

If moderates vote for who was the most liberal senator in 2019, then we want a socialist country. She is right there with Bernie.

She will ban fracking in Pennsylvania and take their guns. They deserve whatever they get.

Can Trump win without Pennsylvania?

quote:well if Bernie got the nod in 2016 and had the support of the DNC machine, he probably beats Trump. Kamala will have full support and will be more “likable” than Hillary was in 2016. This board hates Kamala and thinks she’s a moron. But moderates might see her as that fun, drunk Aunt with a bit of pill problem.

It doesn't matter. That poll and the Marist poll favoring Trump are utterly flawed nonsense. It's a waste of time even considering them.

In no timeline does Harris beat Trump.
None.

I think everyone on the right should take care not underestimate Kamala Harris and the Democrats.
I know she cackles and doesn’t communicate particularly well when speaking in public, but it doesn’t take much to get the support of the left. They fall in line on Election Day.
The let’s make history by electing a woman of color narrative will convince many in the middle (particularly women) to vote for her.
Then you have people who will just vote for her to vote against Trump. These people may not give a crap about Kamala’s policy ideas. They just hate Trump.
Don’t slack up. Every vote, particularly those in the swing states, will matter. Trump’s team better give it everything they have and more.

It’s going to be close. There are built in large bases for each. We had the help of a media bashing the dem for first time in decades that is now gone.

I'll vote for the candidate whose policies are objectively worse for the country because I don't like the other guy. That's essentially what you're saying. People that do that are not moderates. They're emotional children.

This poster sees this as a good thing for Kamala. If this is what we're dealing with on any large scale, this country cannot be saved.

Whatever you want to call them the point is valid.

Then what's the point of politics if this is the end result? If it's a popularity or likeability contest, call it that. Then we just get to elect which candidate hides their sociopathy better.

Don’t disagree at all and it’s been this way for awhile. There are also a lot of lazy fricks who actually like the Dems policy more unfortunately.
Also let’s not act like personality hasn’t been a part of politics for a very long time. I’m voting for Trump for a third time but I can see that his personality puts off a lot of people. His unwillingness to not hammer issue specifics to counter that personality a bit doesn’t help either. Huge, great, the best actually hurts him as badly with moderates as much as him being himself I believe.
He may have great policies but he needs to be more focused on relaying them.
This isn’t meant to bash him but more just a way I think he’d actually lock down more of the moderate types that have been put off by his personality in the past for whatever reason.
