This is a new faction set up bc the devout nationalists are at odds with the Sinn Fein / IRA of the past. Those once tough, pro-Irish guerrilla warriors, that fought British imperialism, slowly morphed into a leftist ideology thanks to Gerry Adams the politician

Not really. Taking the present-day iteration of the IRA seriously is a bit like taking what's left of the present-day KKK seriously.
Like scrooster pointed out, their militaristic elements are neutered, and they're basically just a political boogeyman these days.

Again, not really.
The history of the IRA is convoluted, but the violent, militant fricks most people think of are politically married to Sinn Féin, the leftist political party. With the help of Gerry Adams, Sinn Féin have slowly grown and built their influence in Irish government over the last several decades and wound down paramilitary ops, particularly since The Troubles ended.
Any current group acting under the IRA banner is certainly a newer splinter group who won't have the numbers, resources or influence of the IRA from yesteryear.

Gee Wiz, I hope mosques don’t start burning down, like many of the old Irish Christian churches have lately. It would be sad if those poor fellows were run over while trying to pray in the middle of the streets. I would also hate to see when an Abdul with a sword gets shot dead.

Have you been? It's on my bucket list of places to visit. I have read a lot about The Troubles and want to check it out.....the murals, Peace Wall, Falls Road, the Shankill.......
