The college will offer a 3-year program for a mere $15K annually while offering both a bachelor's degree in Catholic studies AND training in a useful trade.

While I applaud the effort a student can go through the apprentice program and make money while learning the trade.

Then you'll love this story out of Louisville, where a HS student signed his "national letter of intent" -- with a local plumbing company.

“For profit” trade schools have gotten arse raped by people as greedy over charging less than that IIRC.

The plumber kid will make more as a plumber than lots of college grads and not have any student loans to pay.

They make money with this program, get a trade certificate, and a bachelors degree. In just 3 years.

This school is set up that way also. You only pay the first year and then you’re earning money the rest of the time. Students also receive a classical albeit abbreviated liberal arts education. Taught by professors who are connected to the most conservative college on planet earth.

The 15k includes housing and the student gets a salary for their work.

While I already have an engineering degree I am going to trade school this fall. My local community college offers a semester long welding program for $500 so it must be subsidized. I may be doing it for a hobby but it’s a great deal for someone looking for a career as it provides access to certification by course end.

Imagine when learning a trade while NOT getting swallowed up by inexplicable student loan debt has become a radical solution.

Good or no one will be able to repair commercial & residential HVAC.

They took woodshop out of high school so most blue haired pierced tatted kids won't know how to hammer a nail, change oil, fix a flat...

You can get the homosexuality without the pedophilia if you get a spot on an offshore rig.

They know how to hammer a nail through their parts to put a stud or barbell through it.
