All those people that Jesus served (the poor, the outcast, the marginalized) came looking for him in the wilderness. Imagine them coming to Jesus - hobbling on their crutches, the distraught mothers carrying their sick babies, their handicapped loved ones with crippled bodies and tormented minds. Jesus had compassion on them. He came to undo the sin of Adam and Even in the garden. He was literally a healing machine. They wanted to touch him. So forceful was their desperation at one point Jesus had to climb aboard a boat to minister to them to avoid being overwhelmed.

Now consider this profound Truth. Our Lord Jesus Christ never left us, actually. Right now, He resides in that beautiful tabernacle in your local Catholic Church. The Hebrews who wandered in the desert had their tabernacle with the Arch of the Covenant inside (aka the Old Covenant). Catholics have the Bread of Life (the New Covenant) aka as Jesus made present to us in the form of Living Bread. Saul of Tarsus was right to ask,"Do you not know that your body is a Temple of the Holy Spirit?" (1 Corinthians 6:19). When I consume Jesus (void of serious sin) in the form of Living Bread I receive Jesus himself. I have him, body, blood, soul, and divinity inside me in my Temple (aka my body) for the time he remains in me in the form of bread. Is is then I talk to him, tell him I love him, and let him tell me he loves me and as a Father I pray my spouse, and for my children. Then I rest in Him. It's all wonderfully, profoundly, amazing.

It's that simple.

Yep, this is what is at stake in this midterm election. Life or Death - Freedom or Tyranny.
