If true then it makes my point for me....the Naval academy made a conscious decision not to allow the symbol to be coopted for any other purpose. Thanks for making my point for me...

That's a not even close to being a coherent response. You are wrong. The intent you assigned to them was not their reason for displaying the symbol.

I was unaware that the Naval Academy had made a conscious decision to do so

You were unaware of their motivation but felt compelled to assign intent to them. Good grief, just stop.

He may be hasty with his assumption of USNA's intent, but he is right in that if they were to cease use of this symbol, it would effectively allow the symbol to be coopted by some whackos. It is good for the Navy to display their traditional symbols in this way.

So if I understand your post you're saying you had no idea why the Naval Academy displayed the symbol but were more than happy to erroneously tell everyone why they did in a previous post. Is that correct?

BTW, the reason you provided is not remotely related to the actual reason they wore this symbol on Saturday. They weren't taking anything back from Tea Party types. They were protesting, at least that is what the article provided alludes to, the symbol being banned by the brass.

That's an assumption he made and a false narrative he put forth. No where is there evidence to support his claim.

I agree

Exactly, the USN is doing the same exact thing that these folks are:

Wow, I don't think I've ever started a thread that brought out so many OT Lounge idiots who know ZERO about politics and current events. Welcome to the land of critical thinkers, HH. You may not feel comfortable here.

I have absolutely nothing to add that hasn't already been said. Your initial assertion is baseless, and you have refused to acknowledge contrary positions, even though they hold greater weight than your arguments.
