My Son Wants to Be a Pilot - Should he even waste his time Trying?

Oh, I know. Someone is gonna cite that most current commercial pilots are white dudes. That's great if you already are one.
But if you were a young white dude today, would you consider it worth it? Seems to me that if these airlines are going to meet their stated goals in the time frame they claim to want to meet them, that is going to require massive discrimination against white dudes. Not just normal, tweaking affirmative action type discrimination but almost across the board discrimination.
I'm not even sure how they are going to avoid get creamed by lawsuits but this is today's fascist America so, they will probably get away with it.

To be fair, the question was a six inch uphill putt. Claim victimhood, join the right campus orgs, go to the meetings, seek out the right professors and admins, create that online persona glomming onto other victim groups, and get whisked into any position you want.

One does not simply become a pilot. One must first obtain the necessary credentials. Once he has them then you bother with such banter.

Does he speak spanish? fly to mexico destroy all documents and identification. Come across the border using a new name. He will be fast tracked into any field he wants.

Have him do a DNA test. If he’s 0.01% of something else, have him put that on all his applications as his race.

Are you married to his mother? If not it's a good starting point to become a pilot.
Sorry as an aircraft mechanic I had to take the easy shot. There is a huge shortage of pilots and mechanics for that much because there is a generation reaching retirement age and a lot of people will be leaving the industry soon.

I would definitely encourage him to get his pilots license.
Definitely make sure he likes what it takes to be successful.
"I want to be a millionaire "
"I want to be a pro athlete"
Most people don't want to do the work to truly grab their dreams.
If he likes it and displays a high acumen, he will be fine.

I would be more concerned about airline maintenance than finding a seat in the cockpit.

The DNA test isnt even necessary. Just put black down. They just want it for the statistic
