Yes, he should.

DEI in that industry is just one fully loaded commercial plane crash away from being canceled. Lawyers will expose any deficiencies in the competence of the flight crew.

When that happens, standards and competence will return as criteria for hiring.

My son is 15 and has already booked 45 hours with a CFI. He flys twice a month. He will solo at 16 and get his PPL at 17. He absolutely loves it and is a great pilot for his age. Started at 13 yrs old . I encourage it if you can afford it. Not cheap.
