How will this plan make life better for Americans?

1. The obesity epidemic will be reduced due to more Americans mowing their own lawns.
2. The health care costs associated with obesity-related illnesses will decline.
3. Health care becomes more affordable for all.

At this point, Trump just wants it because he spout off so much about it on the campaign trail. It was a dumb idea then, and it's still a dumb idea.

The vast majority of illegal aliens overstay their visas and arrive here legally. An expensive wall isn't going to stop that.

Illegal border crossings in the year 2017 : 310,531

1. I think that number is a huge problem.

2. How do we know the actual number isn't much larger? Is there a big book at the border saying 'All illegal aliens need to register here before proceeding to a US city.'

3. Once they get here they start spitting out babies that are not counted as illegal aliens because they are citizens.

I guess he is.

I also doubt seriously that the number is that low.

With a country of over 320 million people I don't consider it to be much of a problem

Particularly when the number has been very quickly diminishing for over a decade

It's the trend that is important. The numbers are already trending downward without a wall and have been doing so for over a decade

On this board, you're dealing with faux-conservatives, not real conservatives. A lot of these guys are nothing more than Trump cultists.

Showing a 75% decrease in a "problem" with a reasonable budget is not seen as success to faux-conservatives. They would prefer we spend billions more and literally have military families' lives frequently disturbed to go sit in a fricking desert to watch for something that is already under control.

Incredible how these deficit hawks change their tunes when it's Dear Leader wanting to spend the money.

How many of those crossing are pushing out multiple babies after entering and using our tax funded health and welfare services?

Someone go to the link and copy the graph on the page. 2000 was a huge outlier and the following years, while decreasing, hardly suggest that the number is going to drop to a negligible amount ina few short years. Instead, it looks more like it’s leveling off at a still unacceptably high amount.

As someone said, a million every 3 years, not counting the babies they’re having after they get here, is not a solved problem.

Yes, yes it is. A solved problem in not a problem. No problem = being OK with the current status.

It's basically solved because we have an administration in office enforcing our border laws.

The wall is not for this administration.

The wall is for future administrations who will be intentionally lazy on border security

The wall is for after the collapse and downfall, which will certainly happen if we don’t keep all the illegals already here from gaining citizenship.

We need to deport millions and then use enforcement and the wall to maintain our country’s balance going forward. I’m not in favor of doing it some cold-hearted way, though. We should work with destination countries to make it the experience as pleasant as possible for everyone involved, even if it costs us a lot of money.

current status is a 75% decrease trend, if it starts spiking back up then it would be appropriate to look at other things we can do.

How hard is it to understand that people want the sovereign border of their country secured?

Why do you apply it here?
