My wife showed me one of my 4th graders worksheets last night. It is a cursive writing assignment where the teacher wrote out a statement and the kids had to practice writing it in cursive, it stated:

"This country will not be a good place to live in unless we make it a good place for all of us to live in."

Wtf? She is making 4th graders write how they don't currently live in a good country and will not unless they bow before the liberal overlords. That's the way I read it. Thinking about making an issue out of it. There is a hundred ways to write that we should work together and help our fellow man but this is blatantly political and teething with anti American sentiment as far as I'm concerned. What say you?

Press her on what it means to "make it a good place to live in". Get her on the record.

That a teacher should not issue an assignment which ends in a preposition.

Leave your kid alone, and maybe she won’t be a snowflake like her dad.

I Have my daughter use the same words in sentences like this in different order to make a point of liberty and individuality.
I’ve had to do this a few times.

Ignoring the grammatically annoying nature of that sentence, it seems like a harmless, feel-good, age appropriate statement. 10 year olds aren't jaded like you. They aren't reading it like you are.

When I was in elementary school, these types of assignments said things like "Three frogs jumped off the log and into the pond."

Why the frick does EVERYTHING these days have to have some underlying "we need to save the world" message?

I would raise hell in that school if they assigned that. It’s time to stamp out this nonsense that is poisoning our children before they even have a chance to think on their own

Make up a different sentence for you daughter to write for the assignment.

"Teachers should not push their personal political ideologies onto my child. frick off"

I swear to God I would do something like this. I wouldn't add the last part though.

Someone needs to work on their reading comprehension skills.

I bet you can read a recipe for stew and consider it an effort by the deep state to program you.

So the teacher is teaching cursive using a politically charged and grammatically incorrect statement?

Awesome?

I don't care either way.

4th graders should be focused on learning basic skills. Not on political/social activism.

Save that shite for high school, at the very least.

Your kid should write "My teacher is a self-entitled liberal commie pinko POS."

Some of yall are exactly what you hate.

That statement can be seen as religious as well. Some of you would spit on the words of a Jesus that I was taught in grade school while calling him mentally ill, TDS riddled scum.
