Integration into the society they infiltrate was never the goal.
You cannot be a patriotic American by standard definitions and adhere to the Muslim faith the way it is commanded. They are mutually exclusive states.

There are 50+ Muslim-majority nations on the planet. Any/all of them are better fits for the prospective emigree's way of life than western civilization, (including Japan. They don't deserve what the Indian IT invaders are doing to their country, either).

Pandering is seen as their god opening the door to them to conquer. It is not seen as an olive branch for good relations. The West is operating under a completely different set of ideals than these people operate under. They do not respect it. They see it as an invitation. It’s their religion and culture. It is built upon conquest.
