I don’t think so. I think stoning necessarily requires that the victim is incapable of escaping….either buried up to their waist, or trapped in a pit.

Dude, really? Being stoned to death means being killed by a stone that was being used as a weapon. The amount of stones being used is irrelevant when the outcome is death.
