and has a "colonial history". who knew ?
Team of nine black American climbers attempt to scale Mount Everest to tackle the peak's 'intentional lack of access for black people' and mountaineering's 'colonial history'
The Full Circle Everest Expedition is 'the first all black and brown expedition to the highest place on earth,' climbing leader Fred Campbell said
Team leader, 58-year-old Philip Henderson, told The Washington Post that the project to be about 'summiting Everest first' and 'everything else second'
In total, 10,155 people have reached the towering mountain's summit since white climbers Sir Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay scaled it first in 1953
Norgay was a man of color from Nepal and he, along with many people from the Sherpa community, climb Mount Everest frequently during peak season
Only eight black climbers have reached the top of Mount Everest, which stands 29,032 tall
The team is made up of a teacher, engineer, photographer and Iraq veteran and has already raised more than $150,000 to train for the spring 2022 climb

Racist fricking mountain.
Everest has always been the most racist sexist of all the mountains after Stone Mountain.
I’m glad they were permanently banned from Twitter.

Wait, Nepal has Jim Crow laws? They have white access, Asian access, but no black access?

Wherever a white man builds civilization and achieves greatness and accomplishment , there is a morbidly- obese fanatical Black Studies professor there to tell us why it sucks.

I mean my goodness fellas, there are some seriously brainwashed people out there. Ironically, they likely think they're of a higher intellect than most.

Everest doesn't give a shite where you come from or who you are. It kills indiscriminately. I hope they make it but I hope they are careful.

“Mount Everest…
Forbidding, aloof, terrifying. It is the mountain with the biggest tits in the world.”

Snow is white and thereby racist.
It’s time to deplatform snow.

This proud group is going to overcome all you assholes who have been ‘intentionally’ preventing them from climbing Everest. You should be ashamed. They’ve wanted to for 70 years, but you wouldn’t allow it. Shame.
Next up in the world of sports?
American cycling has a racist problem

Can't remember his name but a black pro athlete said a long time ago 'If the sport is dangerous and you have to pay money to do it, we ain't doing it.'
He listed mountain climbing, sky diving and 2 others I can't remember.
David Brooks' excellent book, Bobos in Paradise, listed ways rich people try to spend big money in less ostentatious ways.
One was: 'A hundred years ago the rich bragged about spending the summer touring Paris, Rome and London. That doesn't work today. You have to add the common touch. So, they spend the same amount of money hiring some guides to take them up Mt. Everest and show the videos to their friends.'

From what I understand, the native, rather dark skinned, Sherpas seem to fair better than anyone up there.
