I guess you also think Moses was wrong for destroying the golden calf.

Neither believe in Satan, both are atheistic organizations.
Perhaps that's the messaging and narrative, but it seems like outright deceit.
I do appreciate the answer though, truly. I'm open minded enough to listen and understand what you're saying.
It just baffles me that two separate entities, Temple of Satan and Church of Satan, would actually be atheistic and not believe in Satan whilst wearing the name of Satan. I feel it would be blasphemous to call myself a Christian and not believe in Christ, or call my self Hebrew whilst having no belief in GOD.
Satan, to the mainstream and majority Judeo-Christian population, represents the antithesis of GOD, who in the book of 1 John chapter 4 is described as, simply, "love". Conversely, Satan is described as hatred and deceit. Satan's physical description being "the most beautiful of the angels" is the ultimate testament to this deception, as he contains no inner beauty and the blackest of hearts yet possesses the most stunning angelic form of all GOD's creations.
If the purpose of the Church and Temple choosing to bear Satan's name was merely for shock value, I'd say they definitely accomplished their goal. If they're simply trying to expand religious freedom legally, then perhaps they'd have been better received by choosing a namesake other than that of the Lord of Hell. Choosing the name of Satan seems very deliberate and tactical.

You’re gonna be really surprised to learn people don’t actually believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster either

He just needed space to destroy.. am I doing that right?
I remember during the summer of love when all the peaceful protesters were burning, looting, and destroying statues it was so beautiful. Why is this different?

TST is an offshoot of COS. They have the same DNA.
They use the word to rustle jimmies of ignorants, which leads to commentary like you saw in this thread.
Then they laugh at the ignorant replies. They troll Christians and promote equal application of the interjection of religion into our public institutions (which is why they're pretty much exclusively a response to a perceived violation of separation of church and state, like this statue).

See: this board anytime one of these events occur.

They would not receive even 1/1000 of the publicity if their organizations' name was more benign.
Go search the number of threads made about "The Satanic Temple" on here v. "American United". I don't know if a single thread has ever bee made about the AU, but probably one per week is made about TST (and that doesn't even include the COS, which does its own trolling).

I agree with his message but an individual vandalizing private property is not the way to go about spreading that message.
Plenty of examples in the Bible of God commending men for doing exactly the same thing. God's not a libertarian, which is apparently a thing that needs to be said.
