If we'd be using it for psychological effect, it would be against the IRGC rank and file. Some reports of infighting and shortage of food and money, then getting a MOAB dropped on you at will from a US cargo plane? Yeah, that would tend to take the fight and caring about Mullahs out of most grunts I would think.

MOAB was called a Free Air Explosive [FAE bomb] in the 1975 period. At that time ethylene oxide was used as the combustable. I saw a video of a test somewhere in the Florida pan handle. Test was a bunch of sheep tied to pine trees over a football field sized area. Sheep were dead from shock wave, pine trees were still standing.

Agreed... however.. While I am no expert, it seems to me that if you had tunnel entrance open and one of these were set off close to the entrance the vacuum created by the blast may have some.. shall we say interesting effects on the contents of the cave...
