120,000 a year is barely middle class these days.
with that said, eventually the workforce will flip and all these guys who are blue-collar workers making so much money now are gonna be dirt poor when the AI jobless crowd slowly moves over into their sphere. At that point, everyone will be poor.

I went to conference where Mike Rowe was a featured speaker. He gives a great speech with an excellent, positive message peppered with these same warnings.

The trades need to pay more. The inverse of "you're worth what someone is willing to pay you" is also true: "the job is worth what it takes to get someone to do it."

The guy sharp enough to start at the bottom turning a wrench and end up with his face on the side of the truck is sharp enough to go to college and end up making a lot more money than that business owner a lot faster.

He discussed the amounts that tradesmen can earn. It’s a lot.
Rowe’s interview with Maher was good. I only made it through a portion of the panel, and what I saw was also good. They might have gone off the rails later. Not sure.
I have to give Maher credit. Even if he still votes blue, a lot of media personalities won’t even give dissenting opinions a chance. He often does.

One of the hurdles his foundation has been addressing is the cost of entry into these trades. Many of these programs especially those sponsored by the manufacturer require you to constantly payout huge sums for the tools and equipment…. High end precision tools are costly and requiring maintenance and calibration tuning.

Ford can’t fill jobs because their pay structure sucks. It’s that simple. Get rid of salesmen and pay the people that know how to fix shite. Problem solved.
