I can't believe somebody didn't stop him from throwing himself on top of this grenade with THAT argument.

This is an example of why I voted against him. It was just a personal protest vote, but here's the thing with Mike Johnson. He certainly isn't the dirtiest man in Congress, but he isn't totally clean, either. He has that Establishment mindset, and it's indicative of why he would make a comment like this.

He spent too many years riding shotgun for Kevin McCarthy.

frick you Mike

Let's make a deal Mike. How about you idiots can continue to trade stocks on insider information but only if 99% of the profits get redistributed to the tax payers.

They should be allowed to invest in index funds and only index funds.

Do they not post the salary before these people blow millions campaigning for the position?

These poor souls sacrifice themselves to be wined and dined by lobbyists, and who knows what else.

There needs to be curbs, and also need to be charged for using or revealing insider trading information.

“And I have some sympathy,” not “we have to have sympathy.” If I’m shown to be wrong, that’s fine. But just as I suspected, this is out of context deception for ulterior purposes.

Why should they be allowed to do something that would get the rest of us thrown in jail?

They really live in their own world. Elitist pieces of shyt that get into congress so they can trade on insider info. It's all a game to these useless shyt bags and you are stuck with them. You can't get them the fk out of congress.

He said it some time ago, I don’t know if this is an additional time or not. Hey, at least he’s honest about his feelings. Personally, I’d be in favor of totally eliminating their ability to profit from the job apart from their salaries, and raise their pay some. That will get some downvotes, but they don’t make a lot given the DC cost of living.

I like Mike , but history tells us d.c. politicians cannot be trusted with the stock market and insider trading. Of course if all elected politicians had to disclose they stock trading etc to the people so he can share his insider training and maybe so.

I hate to say it, and it doesn’t necessarily mean anything in the bigger picture of life (or maybe it does), but probably most amongst us don’t really know what you’re referring to. They’d be like “And??” All of which is a bit disconcerting. Because context is quite important in, well, everything.
