Mexican trying to cash a check at my bank

I’m on the road and had a couple of checks I needed to deposit, and I saw a branch of my bank in a town I was passing. Walked in and the teller had a Mexican man with a backpack on that rode up on a scooter with a Tupperware box strapped to the back of it. He had given them his only form of identification, which was a voter ID card, per The tellers manager. When I heard that I scoffed and Mexican turned around. I have a fresh haircut and a tight stache, probably look like LEO and he was visibly uncomfortable by the situation. He couldn’t understand English, they were on the phone, looking at his ID card, and I was grilling him. Ultimately, they told him he needed a primary identification, and that the voter ID card would only suffice as a secondary identification. They had to get a Spanish language certified employee from the bank on the phone to convey that to him.
No green card, no work visa, no passport, just a check and a voter ID card. Absolute bullshite, and if I wasn’t on the road and in a hurry, I probably would’ve called ice.

If he didn't understand English then it would stand to reason that OP is fluent in Spanish. If he is not fluent in Spanish how was he grilling him?

I was at the Live Teller today and had to go into the bank because they said theyre starting two factor identification at the Live Teller kiosk and I didnt havd that cell phone on me.
I am there at the screen at the bank on camera with my valid DL, account cards, account numbers, checks etc. - and these idiots want to send me a text.
