The cartels get their power from being able to get drugs into America and being able to get people into America.
If they shoot down a flight, they are going to kill 200 of their fellow citizens (no big deal) but also a couple of American military members, and that alone will cause our military to finally go into Mexico and clean up.
The cartels are businessmen. They are not the IQ of 47 types that you find in Gaza and other parts of the ME. They don't kill for kill sake, they kill to protect their business.
This would be an epic all time bad decision. LIke one of the worst decisions of a group of people in the history of the world.
They are not that dumb.
