Probably the most dangerous thing you can do in Memphis because it's low key the #1 road rage city in America. If they had more traffic it would be an epidemic. I swear half the cars in town are Altimas with a paper tag & a beat up front end.

Memphis is America's Mogadishu.

Maybe they will become a sister city to San Francisco or Seattle. They can claim either state.

I'm all for these trash entities declaring themselves autonomous city-states, as long as they don't expect representation in their former state/federal governments.

I'd be willing to let Memphis form a brand new state, provided they also take the Delta of Mississippi, and the Black Belt of Alabama ( Bessemer, too).
With this, of course this would create the obvious 2 Democrats to the Senate, and to offset this, another requirement would be to Make DC square again, which means all of NOVA needs to be put in the DC. That way Virginia can become a great state again without all the transplanted Yankee government dependent liberals ruining the rest of the Commonwealth.

They can move to CHicago......or others....
