Is there a synopsis of why this is unprecedented?

The nature of the bureaucracy, especially once they became civil servants. The bureaucracy is supposed to be apolitical and not easily replaced by partisans. The agency heads are political (they are appointed by partisan actors after all), but the line workers are not supposed to be.

Schedule F is meant to change this to permit political appointments.

Project 2025 is non-governmental, but it's purpose is to create a list of partisan actors to fill those roles if they become open (this isn't fear mongering. It's the legit, stated purpose).

Then do the job you were elected to do. Native Italians want their nation protected and preserved. Take away that safety naturally forces people to find other means.

This is the answer. Humans are reactionary. Do your fricking job and they won’t have a reason to be.

This isn't about "high ranking" positions, which is why it's unprecedented.

Those high ranking positions are appointments and partisan.

This is about replacing tens of thousands of regular workers.

What is factually incorrect in this reporting?

Don't know don't care, it should be a footnote in a local Italian paper that some meaningless powerless youngins were stupid.

It's not like they burned killed and looted over it like the left does globally and regularly and doesn't become an "international scandal everyone of note is reporting on"

Example 1384884771919395 of the world being trash.

The fact that it's a major international headline (possibly the #1 international headline this morning) should give you pause to ponder why it's not a "footnote in a local italian paper"

Dc is 95 percent loon. All the positions are partisan appointments.

I don't think Schedule F is going to pass Constitutional muster, so probably not.

It's full of people who want to maintain the size of fedgov, is a better description. In the age of Trump/MAGA, that's no longer a partisan-left position.

MAGA is all about bigger government and intrusion.

Of which nearly every one happens to be a political activist for the left.

Hell, the overwhelming majority of political donations by federal employees goes to the left.

The apolitical arm of the government is highly political, and, once again, you make the argument that the right shouldn’t do what the left has already been doing for years.

And yet political donations and support by federal employees still overwhelmingly goes only one direction.

Histrionics, especially given the shift in "conservative" politics since 2016

I mean just look at this entire scheme. They're not pushing to get Congress to rescind this power. They are just trying to get their people into the roles to wield the power.

It's standard hypocrisy from the new "conservatives".

If you want to solve the problem of big government, then you have to make government smaller.

Same as the criminal stuff with Trump. If you want to stop wanton and biased prosecutions, strip power from law enforcement and prosecutors and give citizens their freedom (via a more limited government).

You constantly citing “project 25,” which is a media ploy to distract you from knowing there’s a vegetable in the WH is proof you consume mainstream, leftist news and lap it up like a dog.
