Sanjay Sudhir (he/him) is a Special Projects Associate at The Bail Project. In this role, Sanjay primarily supports The Bail Project with strategic partnerships, development, and policy. Prior to joining TBP, he worked at Bain & Company and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Sanjay is passionate about economic empowerment and has led projects in LGBTQ employment in India with Bain, and studied consumer credit access at the Federal Reserve. Sanjay received his B.A. in Mathematics and Economics at Grinnell College.

Lauro Jauregui is the Finance Manager of The Bail Project. Prior to joining TBP, Lauro worked at the United Services Automobile Industry (USAA), where he was responsible for the financial evaluation of internal investments, expense allocations and activities related to the monthly forecast process. Previously, Lauro worked at The North American Development Bank, where he performed financial analysis on environmental projects located in the US/Mexico border, and served as the Director of the Trade Commission of Mexico, where he assisted entrepreneurs and investors with import/export and foreign investment projects in Mexico and the U.S. In his free time, Lauro likes to exercise and spend time with his family.

Franklin Cruz is Special Advisor for Strategic Initiatives at The Bail Project. Franklin comes to TBP with twenty years of direct service, expert technical assistance, and program evaluation experience in criminal justice. Before joining TBP, Franklin was Chief Operating Officer and Program Director at the Justice Management Institute, where he worked with criminal and civil courts and other justice agencies nationally and abroad to improve the administration of justice. His work included facilitating reform to reduce reliance on jails in Charleston County, SC; supporting the development of public defender offices in the West Bank and Myanmar; and evaluating the first “client choice” indigent defense program in the U.S. Franklin also served as the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Strategy and Evaluation at The Bronx Defenders, where he worked for over decade. Franklin moved back to the United States in March 2020, after living in Mérida, Mexico for three years. He currently calls the Washington, DC area home.
