The vote on whether to maybe have a secession vote isn’t going to be close to passing.

Yea who would have ever thought Alberta would be next to New New Delhi?

The frustration with the government out of Quebec is growing in Alberta.

At this point, any secession talk is still extremely premature. There are a LOT of steps in the process and they've barely stepped on the path.
That said, he should be scared. If Alberta were to secede it would be a economic nightmare for Ottawa, possibly causing at least BC to have to leave as well (due to being geographically locked away from the rest of the country, which also includes their power and fuel transport systems as those all run through Alberta).

Someone tell Mr. Bank of England that Alberta isn't Europe.
Unlike Toronto / Montreal. Those two are very cosmopolitan.

A majority don't even think the referendum should be held
quote:
The majority of respondents to a new online survey believe Alberta should not be holding a referendum on separation from Canada, according to polling conducted by Abacus Data for the Alberta Federation of Labour (AFL).
The survey, conducted between Oct. 7 and 13, found 56 per cent of respondents believe the referendum should not be held, compared with 30 per cent who support going to the polls.
Site with running history of polling on the issue
Remain is at 74-75%

Every poll taken on the issue is at least 2/3rds against.
It’s a weird MAGA internet fetish though for some reason.

It’s unfair that provinces in Canada can just vote to leave but when states try to peacefully leave America everybody loses their minds
Wish we were free like Canada
