Dude did the last State dinner for the Obamas, has set Trump on permanent blast on Twitter, retweets freaking Chelsea Handler and Whoopi Goldberg, writes big checks to Dems, is celebrated for his devotion to liberal causes , and never misses an opportunity to tell us how Progressive he is. And he’s a serial rapist who humiliates and gropes his employees. So it all fits. Progressives are phony to the core. A phony cause for phony people spouting phony ideas .

That said, the food looked AWESOME.

Many restaurants in NYC were probably prepared for visits by AG Schneiderman.

This is months old and it did sort of get lost in all of the metoo stories so you'd be correct

But hey he's a piece of shite so I'm not complaining

I read an interesting piece about him before this came out and it was some journalist who had some interaction with him

Said he's essentially a sloppy drunk and not anything like what you would imagine him to be

All I know is he's from Seattle and is somehow a self proclaimed authority on Italian cooking

I ate at one of his restaurants in Beverly Hills a few years ago and it was good but nothing other worldly to be honest

That being said this dude is a total creep

I heard about it on the radio this morning, so obviously this particular story is new. The fols on the radio even referenced how pompous he was to include a recipe at the bottom of his apology a few months ago.

I wonder if this sort of thing is endemic in industries that are highly personality-driven to a degree that it just isn't elsewhere: media and entertainment, fashion, high end cuisine, politics, higher education, etc. The person IS the business to a degree that is not present in other industries, and that person can abuse the shite out of his or her power for so long without anyone saying anything.

Not that sexual harassment and the like don't happen, but I hardly ever hear of anything remotely like this in finance, consulting, corporate law, healthcare, average F500 companies, etc.

It makes me think that these celebs and the media treat this as such a huge problem because it is, in fact, a massive problem in the circles they run, and that is in no small part due to those circles being chock full of people who work in industries where the larger the ego, the better the business.

We were kissing. Yada, yada, yada. I threw up and that was it

Mario Batali

Always considered him the douchiest of the celebrity chefs for some reason.

He always seemed pleasant on his shows, but just came off pretentious to me.

Corporate culture dealt with a lot of this 20 years ago. It still happens all the time, but this is why you have to watch sexual harassment videos at corporations.

This is filtering to smaller, less structured businesses like entertainment, restaurants, etc. I am frankly surprised it hasn't crushed large law. I know that shite goes on at large law firms, really any size law firm but especially the Amlaw 100.

Batali, an outspoken critic of President Trump, extrapolated his views to include environmental regulations, which have been rolled back significantly under the current administration. “As we look at torturing our planet, beating the carbon out of it, and looking at the way these people are going to manage what we consider to be the big things that we should all be sharing, I don’t see violence as out of line.
Checks out.
