Investigate all pilots but the air traffic controller needs some close scrutiny.

Foo, you dumb frick. Using the word “fast” as an adverb is meaningless coming from you. It’s arbitrary and irrational, since you don’t have an objective standard by which to demonstrate something as fast or not. So quit being an illogical irrational piece of shite using meaningless words for no reason.
Be careful calling me dumb when you are the one who can’t understand basic philosophical categories.

Physical relativity is not arbitrary because it is still governed by non-arbitrary rules like the speed of light. Speed is relative to our reference frame, but even the principle of relativity asserts non-arbitrary absolutes. Your irrational worldview sees morality as subjective and that subjectivity has no frame of reference that utilizes any sort of objective rules or standards, which is why it is ultimately arbitrary, and therefore irrational.

If you want to keep up this discussion in the other thread you quit on, I’d be happy to do so.

Or what? I’m only applying your own “logic” and your own arguments to you. I’m trying to help you realize your hypocrisy so you can stop being a hypocrite. You have no foundation to say something is “fast” because you have no objective standard by which to judge “fast”. So you can’t claim something is fast, according to your own rules of logic. Your application of the word “fast” is meaningless coming from you.

.08 miles is roughly 400 feet.

That’s pretty big separation, especially for a helicopter.

Not sure what the issue is here.

Meh. VFR to IFR separation is 1.5 miles horizontally and 500 ft vertically. As a controller once told me: “it’s 0.8 miles from you to him and 0.8 miles from him to you, so a comfortable 1.6 miles between you two”.

GEOTUS letting Jared fly the plane again? That boy's pure trouble. Trump needs to run his arse off and find Ivanka a good southern oilfield type. Maybe mid-50s with great hair.

That's precisely my point, though: you are misunderstanding the concepts at play and aren't coming to a logical conclusion for my argumentation. I showed you in the other thread that your position is irrational and you finally just gave up rather than try to justify yourself.

You don't even get this category correct. A hypocrite is someone who knows one thing and says/does another. If I'm simply misunderstanding something, then I'm not a hypocrite. I wouldn't say your ignorance of philosophy makes you hypocrite when it comes to morality. I would just say you are inconsistent.

Cool deflection

Instead of deflecting, perhaps you should engage with my specific arguments. I explained why subjectivity in perception of speed and morality are different based on the notion of arbitrariness. Arbitrariness is precisely the sticking point that makes your position irrational.

quote:

Your irrational worldview sees speed as subjective and that subjectivity has no frame of reference that utilizes any sort of objective rules or standards, which is why it is ultimately arbitrary, and therefore irrational.

I know you're trying to make an apples-to-apples comparison between subjective speed and subjective morality, but you can't, because of what I stated above: arbitrariness is what makes something truly irrational. Speed is based on unchanging and objective (from our perspective, at least) rules and laws while morality is not (in your worldview). The perception and description of something as "fast" and "slow" is very different than the perception of something as "good" or "bad" due to this.

The only reason why I keep harping on the subjectivity of morality in your worldview is precisely because it is arbitrary, which I've explained to you several times now. Perhaps I can try to make a drawing of it to help you if you still don't get it.

“Fast” is a subjective term. A cheetah is fast compared to a human. A human is fast compared to a turtle. But a cheetah is not fast compared to a rocket. “Fast” is a subjective and relative descriptor.

You yourself said this:

because if morality is subjective, then it's arbitrary by definition

So anything subjective, according to you is “by definition” arbitrary. And you also said…

arbitrariness is irrational.

Using your own logic, by you saying something is “fast”, you are being irrational. So quit being irrational, Foo.

I already explained this. I'll repeat myself, since you didn't actually engage with it previously (you just insulted me):

"Physical relativity is not arbitrary because it is still governed by non-arbitrary rules like the speed of light. Speed is relative to our reference frame, but even the principle of relativity asserts non-arbitrary absolutes. Your irrational worldview sees morality as subjective and that subjectivity has no frame of reference that utilizes any sort of objective rules or standards, which is why it is ultimately arbitrary, and therefore irrational."

quote:

You're not following what I'm saying even though I've explained it several times now.

I didn't say that anything that is subjective is irrational. I said if morality is subjective, then it is arbitrary by definition. Not because subjectivity is necessarily arbitrary, but because moral subjectivity is necessarily arbitrary. You took my specific statement about moral subjectivity and expanded it to all subjectivity, which is not a logical conclusion of my statement.

The key to my statement was what you quoted second: "arbitrariness is irrational". If something is arbitrary, it is definitionally irrational. Moral subjectivity is necessarily arbitrary, and therefore it is definitionally irrational. What I was condemning was the arbitrariness of moral subjectivity.

So no, me saying something is "fast" is not irrational, because speed is ultimately tied to a grounded concept that exists outside the human mind, even if our perception of it and its correspondence to different objects is relative. Morality doesn't work that way in your worldview. You can subjectively interpret an objective truth, but that requires the objective truth to exist in the first place. In your worldview, there is no objective moral truth to ground all perceptions and interpretations.

This is what I mean: you don't understand these basic concepts, so it's impossible to have a conversation with you about them. I just wind up repeating myself and you just call me names and eventually quit.

You claimed subjective morality is arbitrary and irrational because it isn’t based on an objective standard. Then you claimed something was “fast” which was merely your own subjective relativistic opinion with no objective standard to compare to what is objectively “fast”. You have to lie in the bed you made.

You say I have no basis for saying something is “good” or “bad.” Using your own flawed logic, but applying it consistently in a non-hypocritical manner, then you have no basis for saying something is “fast”.

You want to use special pleading though, and claim your subjective opinion is rational and based on Einstein’s equations but that the opinions of others are baseless and irrational. It’s because you’re a hypocrite.

Jesus hates hypocrites.

The two issues aren't parallel, because physical relativity isn't actually relativism, but the opposite, as I've already explained.

Einstein's theory says measurements vary by frame precisely because an invariant law (the Lorentz transformation, which I didn't mention by name previously) and invariant quantities (e.g. light speed) hold fixed across all frames. There is nothing that is left up to the observer's preference to say it's relative in the same way as when we talk about morality; the frame-dependence is itself derived from something absolute when it comes to speed.

Moral relativism, on the other hand, denies there's any invariant standard behind the variation moral preferences. It's not "different measurements of one fixed moral law" but the claim is that no fixed moral law exists at all.

I don't know how much simpler I can make it for you: the standards used between speed and morality (in your worldview, at least) are very different. The standards for speed are invariant while the standard for morality varies from person to person.

Therefore, while two people can perceive speed differently, speed, itself, is not arbitrary, while morality is absolutely arbitrary in your worldview, because there is no objective basis to ground it, from your worldview.

Jesus hates hypocrites.
1. I'm not a hypocrite

2. Jesus calls you to repent. If you cared what He said, you would reject your irrational atheism and trust in Him for forgiveness of sins and eternal life.

Yes, they are.

Whatever man, that’s “just a theory”. You hate scientific theories and pretend they aren’t an explanation of observable, testifiable, and falsifiable facts conclusively to the overwhelming preponderance of evidence of the truths of our natural universe. Regardless, you are an asshat to even raise the issue of Einstein in regard to what is “fast”. Einstein’s equations don’t and can’t set an objective definition for “fast”. What you claimed to be “fast” is merely your irrational and arbitrary opinion by your own logical standard. Own up to it.

quote:

Moral relativism, on the other hand, denies there's any invariant standard behind the variation moral preferences.

More lies or stupidity on your part.

quote:

The standards for speed are invariant while the standard for morality varies from person to person.

You obtuse piece of shite. You think Usain Bolt and some kid on a football team have a standard for “fast” that is invariant? You know you are full of shite and are a troll.

False.
