The Republican bench is ridiculously deep compared to the Democrats.

I dont even know who I want in 2028. Not a bad problem to have, whoever comes out on top in 2028 is going to be a force to reckon with.

I just hope Trump decides to anoint someone in advance so that we can avoid a bruising and expensive primary. That will be a huge advantage for us if we can pull that off, as the DNC is going to have to tear each other down to find their candidate

Marco is pragmatic. He sees the trump express as the popular ticket I. Town and knows there will be opportunities in 2028. And the SoS position is a powerful position.

People forget he was Mr. Tea Party before he was Grahams BFF in the senate.

Do I trust him to stay on the right path with no one to apply leverage to him after he got a 99-0 approval vote in the senate? Absolutely not.

But this is a binary situation and so far he’s been without fault as SoS so I commend him.

The democrats are so far behind right now. I don't think they can catch up in time to have a chance in 2028. Trump had four years to plan and organize. They need to start now but they are too busy scrambling trying to keep up with and oppose Trump.

The only problem with a deep bench, is it will also make for an intense primary.

Vance, Rubio, DeSantis amongst others will all throw their hat in the ring. We need to avoid that, and have the next guy lined up so we can get straight to it and avoid burning donor dollars on that. The GOP fundraising machine is miles behind the DNC... Even with Musk putting $250m in the DNC still outspent the GOP 2:1

Gee, I wonder why? I’m betting that money miraculously disappears in the next few years

I think Marco is on board with tariffs because he realizes it’s a national security issue. He knows we can’t rely on China for base metals to manufacture tanks, ships, planes and artillery if we are fighting China.

Rubio is a follower & does what he's told. No way he would've done any of this on his on accord. A point & click guy.

I do think he enjoys the limelight a bit too much.

No complaints as long as he gets the job done the people voted for.

I think Trump gave him the courage to embrace MAGA. He had all the markers for Deep State grooming and indoctrination early in his political career.

Rubio is able to articulate things very well. Which is a useful asset in a diplomatic role such as his. He’s also very flexible; he went from Trump’s harshest rival in the primaries in 2016 to one of his staunchest defenders now. And he’s figured out how to get on Trump’s good side.

Rubio has been a refreshing surprise. I was less than delighted with the selection, considering his moves in the senate.

In a primary that is Rubio vs Vance, the chips would fall where they may and Trump’s ppl would ultimately back the winner btwn the 2 of them.

DeSantis

If Casey Desantis really does run against Donalds RDS may have definitely screwed himself with Trump’s base for good.

RDS is the real deal policy wise, but I’m not sure he’s doing himself any favors with that move from an optics standpoint.

Even if Casey would win, he would have pissed off people he would need to win primaries in other locations, and it would be a repeat of what happened in 2023/2024. He’d be locked in a battle for second place. The smarter move for him would be to back Donalds and run for Rubio’s seat.

PS it always makes me furious where being married to someone is parlayed into some kind of qualification to do the job your husband did. WTAF?

It shouldn't be if you watched him since he's first senatorial race.
