Probably low demand to build with interest rates as high as they are. People aren't buying homes.

Friend,

Did you know the US has produced more crude oil in the last six months than in any other six month period in American history? LINK Is that good or bad?

Given that interest rates have almost tripled from pre-pandemic levels and housing prices have not started coming down, why should I give a shite about the price of lumber?

If Trump was president, the media would excoriate him. Since there's a democrat vegetable in office, you won't hear a peep. Hopefully that clarifies things for you.

Almost no new housing starts in my area. The exception is the old cash buyers with their new vacation homes.

Lumber may be down but the cost to build a house is still 75-100% above pre Covid levels.

Depends. Are gas prices lower at the pump?

You actually hit directly on the reason for the decrease in the price of lumber.

That day is coming. The very, very, unfortunate thing is....a near depression is what is going to get it there.

If you think things are bad now, just wait. You'll remember today as "the good 'ol days". Way too much money borrowed by both, the consumer and the fricking government! We just avoided another government shutdown, where our government is hard pressed to spend an extra $2 TRILLION EVER YEAR, AND WE ARE HELL BENT on an open border and sending HUNDREDS of BILLIONS to a country with ZERO strategic or economic impact on our country.
