LSU Actions on Guice

It seems LSU hasn't fully figured out it's wokeness and is caught between "Me Too" and "Woke". By my understanding, Guice is the very definition of an under-privileged minority kid growing up with absent/dead/imprisoned parents & siblings. He was raised by his HS football coach and lauded as an example of "rising above his upbringing" while at LSU.
What LSU is responding to by the life time ban and erasing records is a "Me Too" response. However, it seems what they are really saying is "Ok, we admit we have covered for sexual assaults by student athletes and we're going to pay for it by making an example out of the very definition of an under-privileged minority kid in Guice". However, this fails the "woke" test of saying that Guice was just a product of the systemic racism that he grew up in. Surely there were white athletes who had similar accusations against them that we could make the same example of?
Reminder that Guice has not been tried or convicted of a single accusation that has been raised against him while at LSU. No apologist for him but this is true.
Overall, I just love seeing the administration contorting themselves to respond while not realizing that they are mixing up their outrages.

TLDR; Guice >> Fournette

Doesn't matter on tried/convicted. Read up on the Clery Act and then get back to us.

Whatever, but banning his on the field achievements are just dumb. What does a sexual assault have to do with a rushing record? LSU will be deleting the record books if there were moral clauses for every athlete and their achievements. Cecil Collins and Billy Cannon come to mind, and I’m sure there are others that may have done things off the field that weren’t acceptable. They are really crossing a line here, and that don’t mean that Guice wasn’t a POS...

I mean, fricking Billy Cannon is a felon that marketed counterfeit money. Are they going to write him out of his Heisman? This is grossly stupid.

What will Catholic High do? The Is is the perfect excuse for the Brothers to erase him.

Guice is a royal POS. He’ll end up in prison or dead from someone he pissed off. It’s inevitable.

In case anyone was still wondering if we had all slipped into the pages of Orwell's 1984, stop wondering. What they are doing here to Guice is making him and "unperson."
quote:
In the George Orwell book Nineteen Eighty-Four, an Unperson is someone who has been vaporized. Vaporization is when a person is secretly murdered and erased from society, the present, the universe, and existence. Such a person would be taken out of books, photographs, and articles so that no trace of them is found in the present anywhere – no record of them would be found. This was so that a person who defied the Party would be gone from all citizens' memories, even friends and family. There is no Newspeak word for what happened to unpeople, therefore it is thoughtcrime to say an unperson's name or think of unpeople.
Short of murdering him, they are attempting to vaporize him from LSU and toss it all down the memory hole.
Now...since I no longer give a single, solitary frick about what LSU does this doesn't matter to me from an LSU sports standpoint, but from a societal standpoint where this is the slippery slope we're all now on, this kind of thing is fairly terrifying.

Trying to erase his accomplishments on the field due to actions off the field is just like having to vacate a win.
The score / stat is what it is and nothing can change that. It actually happened. Do we now put an "*" next to Fournette's name for the single game rushing record? This very much like stripping Bush of the 2005 Heisman. He won the vote, regardless of if he was the better than Vince Young that year or not.
What's next? Are the Buffalo Bills and the woke NFL going to erase OJ from their history as if he didn't actually rush for 2,003 yards in a 14 game season?
Punish their off field actions like they were off field actions, if legally convicted, instead of trying to re-write history.
I don't know much about Guice's off field stuff, but he is still an American Citizen who deserves Due Process and the right to face his accusers. If guilty, punish him to full extent of the law, but let's not pretend like he didn't accomplish the on field performances. What if he is not guilty? Does LSU put him back in the books?

Lsu is run by leftist filth.

LSU used the kid - has no more use for him - and is throwing him away.
This is on LSU “leadership”.

Removing him from the record books just falsifies the books.
Guice is the single game rushing leader for LSU*. The record book doesn’t make him that; what he did on the field makes him that, and it can’t be changed. It happened.
*In fact he holds 3 of the top 5 records for single game rushing at LSU.

Okay, I’ll play your game.
Name a specific white athlete who had equally bad or worse behavior than Guice.

Ultimately, who gives a frick, it is a child's game played by pampered, privileged adults. His removal from the books has zero impact on your life.

It’s wrong. That’s all. Pete Rose come to mind? Does Pete deserve to be in the Baseball Hall of Fame?

Billy not only marketed the money, he produced it. Could use some of his"entrprenureal" spirit today.
