No. 1

Do you support an amendment declaring that, to protect human life, a right to abortion and the funding of abortion shall not be found in the Louisiana constitution?

No. 2

Do you support an amendment to permit the presence or production of oil or gas to be included in the methodology used to determine the fair market value of an oil or gas well for the purpose of property assessment?

No. 3

Do you support an amendment to allow for the use of Budget Stablization Fund, also known as Rainy Day Fund, for state costs associated with a disaster declared by the federal government?

No. 4

Do you support an amendment to limit the growth of the expenditure limit for the state general fund and dedicated funds and to remove the calculation of its growth factor from the Constitution?

No. 5

Do you support an amendment to authorize local governments to enter into cooperative endavor ad valorem tax exemption agreements with new or expanding manufacturing establishments for payments in lieu of taxes?

No. 6

Do you support an amendment to increase the maximum amount of income person may receive and still qualify for the special assessment level for residential property receiving the homestead exemption?

No. 7

Do you support an amendment to create the Louisiana Unclaimed Property Permanent Trust Fund to preserve the money that remains unclaimed by its owner or owners?

As a general rule, I typically vote "no" for any amendment.

No. 1 --- in layman's terms, what does this mean? FWIW, I am against abortion unless under dire and special circumstances.

Lastly, the way these questions are worded, I have to think that many people just "guess" or "pick" especially where critical thinking is supposed to be used.

1. yes
2. yes (why is that not already the case?)
3. I'm iffy on that. If the feds declare a disaster in Louisiana, doesn't the state receive federal dollars? I lean "no" on this one.
4. I'm not knowledgeable on this subject to vote one way or another.
5. yes
6. yes
7. yes

I voted yes on #1 and #5 I believe.

#1 - Because I'm pro-life.
#5 - I believe this will help with the ITEP crap getting rejected at the local level.

Is it just me, or does it seem like there is some iteration of this "amendment" in EVERY Louisiana election? Hell, I could almost say that for all of 2-7. I don't get it.

#5 seems good all around. Manufacturing companies can negotiate their taxes with local governments. More chances for new companies to come in and hopefully bring more jobs when they might otherwise pass on Louisiana because of high taxes. We have to be able to compete with other states.

Pro-choice on a public policy level. Individually, I oppose abortion.

However, my opinion on the amendment does not really stem from my view on abortion. I oppose it because it doesn't do anything that is not needed.

Louisiana already has a law on the books that would outlaw abortion in the event that Roe is ever walked back by SCOTUS.

No on 2 and 3. Yes to the rest.

No 1 is to prevent legislating from the bench in regards to abortion. A judge would not be allowed to “read” some other law that would allow abortions or provide for taxpayer funded abortions.

I'm voting YES not because I am staunchly "pro-life" (though I do think the practice of abortion is despicable), but because I adamantly agree the state constitution has no, nor should, constitutional RIGHT to abortion or abortion funding. If the LA legislature wants to grant that right through the legislative process, fine. But I ABSOLUTELY don't think the "right" to an abortion can be read into the Constitution. If there is a right...it should expressly say it.

2. should be NO. Oil and gas production is not a guarantee therefore not included in the property assessment. If the well runs dry you're stuck paying high taxes and the assessment is shite.
