Landry and co spent almost 600k just pushing for a yes on amendment 2.
They hired 50 Cent for some reason to get people to vote yes.

Jeff Landry is a total moron
No one in Louisiana votes. Less than no one votes in off-cycle elections in Louisiana.
The concepts are not related but can combine.

Why tf wouldn't Landry have put this on the ballot during the Trump landslide in LA?
Because he, his team, and legislative leadership are VERY unintelligent people.

Don’t fall for the BS. Seriously. Republicans in Louisiana are fricking terrible and will point the finger anywhere else. I’ve realized after moving here how insane this political situation is. No one wants the best for anyone here.

The problem isn’t Landry. It’s the citizens of Louisiana.

I usually put Married with Children reruns on to fall asleep to. It’s funnier now than it was when it came out. It’s on the Classic Families channel at night. Anyway, there were a lot of ads on there opposing the amendments.

People in Louisiana are so dumb at the ballot box. It's shocking.
Louisiana voted Landry and Trump into office and this makes you finally realize how dumb you are?

True. If you read the comments online of the story on wafb and wbrz, a certain segment of the population was going overboard in their celebration of their failure. It’s like Obama just won another election.
These are the same voters that think Latoya is doing an excellent job. I’m thinking the state really screwed up not passing this now.

I agree with so many of the comments in this thread. This approach to state constitutional amendments is ludicrous. A lawyer friend told me his approach is that after reading thru a prepared amendment one time, if he can't explain it to someone, he will vote"no". I think I'm adopting his approach. If proponents want people to vote for an amendment, put it on a 5th grade level.

He may indeed be just that. But where in amendment 2 did it offer a tax cut? It lowered the cap, it didn’t lower the rate. And anyone who thinks this state is going to give anyone a permanent tax cut is deluding themselves.
Louisiana spends way too much money to ever give the citizens a permanent tax cut. We may get one for a few years or on a specific item (relative to sales taxes), but the state cannot afford to cut revenues. Louisiana spends too much money!!
Notice also that the increase in sales taxes was presented as being offset by a cut in income tax. But there apparently NEVER WAS a cut in place. ( It required voter approval just to cap the rate!)
Yet again, the politicians misled voters. And people ask why voters reject new legislation?

Because there’s way too much word salad in those amendments for anyone to read and comprehend in the voting booth. Not to mention people in general do not trust slimy cocksucking politicians no matter their party affiliation

Just as Nancy said. "You have to pass the bill, in order to know what is in it" Makes perfect sense if you are a moron.
Posted on 3/30/25 at 6:32 am to TigerPlate
The problem with jamming 4-5 things into a constitutional amendment is if someone likes 3 of them but is worried about the 4th it fails completely.
Government has grown so complicated and untrustworthy and bloated and corrupt why would anyone trust anything they present at this point? Either fix it within the parameters you already have or rewrite the whole thing.

People are sick of being ripped off and lied to. Gambling was supposed to fix education and pay for teachers but the slimy bastards stole the proceeds and gave it to the state troopers. I vote no on everything related to education. They already have the money, just put it where we voted for it to go initially.

Landry is blaming George Soros and you’re blaming black people.
News flash: ITS LANDRY. He’s the problem. These crap amendments were the problem.
Btw no one thinks Latoya is doing a good job. You’d know that if you actually lived in or ever went to New Orleans.
