I actually generally like both of them. But you have to remember they are from, how shall I put it, "uptown" districts? Conservative, but well educated, "elite" communities.

Their constituencies won't really sink them for this vote and in fact may praise them. Those districts are some of the closests R/D splits in the state. Or to put it another way, Freiberg's district is has the lowest Trump vote total of any district held by a republican legislator.

If these freaks want this transgender shite so bad what they need to do is make a transgender only division. So it doesn't matter which sex you claim to be you compete against the other trans freaks. Problem solved.

Wouldn’t the fair thing to do is make all sports gender neutral?

They would then demand that 1/2 of the teams be reserved for girls.

Now there's a surprise... One of the worst "Republicans" in the state of Louisiana, and that's saying a lot!

Surprised no one has commented yet about the picture that accompanied the article. It is the perfect example of why it’s a good law.

Currently, LHSAA does not allow kids who have reached a certain age to compete in high school sports. The rule is in place because 20 plus year olds are more physically mature than 14-18 year olds. It would be an unfair biological advantage. Same issue here. Go watch any sport where there is a girls and boys division. Two completely different athletes are playing them.

Wow... I've finally found another small government Republican on this board. Welcome, friend!

Glad someone else has some common sense.

This is a stupid bill for something that the state should have no authority over. Let the LHSAA - a private organization, as they love to remind us - handle this.

If the legislature is going to try to order the LHSAA to do something, at least be useful, and get rid of the split =)

Also, how many "transgenders" are currently participating in LA high school athletics, competing as a gender that is not their birth gender? Any?

From the article:

quote:

The Louisiana High School Athletic Association already has taken a position that student athletes “shall compete in the gender of their birth certificate unless they have undergone sex reassignment.”

If they have undergone sex reassignment... those physical advantages between men and women just about disappear.

This isn't like other states where cross dressers are running in the women's track meet.

FIFY.

Allowing men to compete with women will end women’s sports.

Go look in the record books in every sport and compare men and women.

This is the headline which is a deliberate lie.

They can play sports. Just with their own sex.

What the heck?! Is Louisiana still a southern conservative state, or have they gone the way of Georgia?

The government deciding who competes in what sport is certainly "big government". It isn't necessary. This is not an "issue" that needs solving.

The government will be deciding who competes regardless. Your line of reasoning makes no sense.

Are you asking if high school kids undergo sex reassignment?

If they want to play as a girl, they will!

"California Republican" takes less time to say.
