I'm very anti-trans men playiing women's sports. But, the prevalence of this is so low and the economic backlash likely to follow so severe that it's really unnecessary. Kind of like reverse virtue signaling.

The government deciding who competes in what sport is certainly "big government". It isn't necessary. This is not an "issue" that needs solving
Until one person sues. Then it becomes a govt issue. Why not head it off in state GOVT schools?

Why on earth would sports issues be in front of a state legislature? It’s not a state government issue. At all.

This issue is a win-win no matter how it plays out. If legislation passes protecting our women, great. And that will rustle SJW jimmies. If not, we get to see biological males dominate women's sports, which will be fun because we get to watch suburban moms see the monster they created.

You mean lawsuits in federal courts that require zero action from the state legislature?

Besides that, why do you think pandering preemptive actions like this bill would “head it off?”

This bill, if enacted, will immediately result in litigation. It’s automatic. In fact that’s one of the reasons the proponents of these bills want them—they WANT to litigate this non-issue.

The insane notion that a man born a man can “transition” into a woman by mutilating their functional sexual organs and following a prescription of chemical castration is not only anti-scientific and an affront to reason, it is a form of barbaric cruelty.

Any government that actively promotes such an agenda to young people is aligned with an unmitigated evil straight out of the bowels of Hell.

Is that analytically nuanced enough for you?

I guess I'm more of a risk benefit gal. How many transgenders in this state want to play in girls leagues? 3.5? How many jobs will be lost when "progressive" assholes from Hollywood south or name any other industry leave because the legislature passes a law that is only meant to appease certain interest groups? Thousands? Is it really worth it? Not for me or the others whose lives would be affected by real world consequences.

What's stopping us from allowing 'females' to play revenue generating sports and dump more scholarships into football, baseball, and men's basketball?

Hilferty represents Peppi Bruneau’s old district. I guess that district is now less conservative than it used to be.

When I played JPRD playground ball and when I played school sports a birth certificate was required. It was mainly for age back then. Require the same document for "sex at birth". Using "gender" is stupid; use sex at birth.
