I’m just glad he’s gonna protect the trial attorneys. I mean, somebody needs to watch out for them. Because it’s not already embarrassing as absolute frick that our biggest NIL donor is an ambulance chasing piece of shite

A Louisiana politician says some words and the citizens continue falling for it.
Of all the issues plaguing Louisiana, CC should be near the bottom. I have CH license and carry-and also believe every law abiding US citizen should be able to as well as long as the person is properly vetted.

Who else could the Sheriff's Association nominated in order to remain relevant? You can bet your last dollar Landry will do exactly what he said.

Really hope this happens as you said. This is the mark of a good politician. Not beholden to your donors and will do the right thing

I don't think that I will...but you go ahead.

He's a Louisiana politician, they never say things that they don't get done.

I mean I guess https://www.johnschroder.com/ but it would take a huge misstep by Landry to make that possible.

Thank You

Landry throws out soundbites about Constitutional carry and gender assignments, and the simps eat it up.

What about the horrible business climate in the state? Horrible roads, education, taxes, insurance?

He said in his own words that he is going to work with the trial attorneys, who are the root cause of most of our state's problems. But you can carry a gun and ain't no drag queen gonna read to muh kids!!

Why? Not just insults, please. Can you give me actual reasons? I'm not challenging you; I'm just trying to navigate this myself.

Landry is a phony. The illegal foreign workers he hired are real.

When the people are locked and loaded, able to carry whenever they want, the gooooooooooooooooooooberment has to recognize that raw power of an armed citizenry.

The crime rates drop very quickly.

There is a supermajority in both the house and senate. Could be done today if legislators really wanted it.

I'll give you three.

1) His using a company that is known to hire illegal immigrants, for projects for companies he is involved with.

LINK

2) The Shane Guidry mess

LINK

3) The fact that he absolutely zero plans to actually effect any changes that would fix any of the state's many issues. Taxes. Education. Corruption. Coastal issues. He has nothing on any of that.

Even Diapers Vitter had actual plans to fix things.

Attorney General Jeff Landry has stepped down from the board of an oil services company run by his political ally, ending an unusual business arrangement that raised legal questions.

Landry, who announced his bid for governor in October, gave up his seat on Harvey Gulf’s board in mid-December, Harvey Gulf CEO Shane Guidry said in an interview.

Guidry is Landry’s top political ally and a major donor to his campaign. Landry also hired Guidry to serve as a “special agent/investigator” for the Attorney General’s office.

Landry reported making between $50,000 and $100,000 in 2020 and 2021 from his role on the Harvey Gulf board, where he provided legal advice. Several experts said the arrangement may run afoul of a law that says the attorney general must devote his full time to that office, as well as of ethics laws that prohibit public officials from getting certain payments and gifts outside of their state salaries.

Landry’s campaign did not respond to messages seeking comment on his resignation.

“He just felt he needed to resign from the board in 2022 to run for governor in 2023,” Guidry said, adding that Landry didn’t provide a lengthy explanation for his decision. Guidry said he replaced Landry with a former schools superintendent from Michigan. The company’s website indicates the new board member is Ronald Wilson.

I know a senator who voted for JBE and it pissed me off bc he is supposed to be so conservative. He had tie ins with him from military academy.
I know exactly who you are talking about. Part of the group who were too spineless to override any of JBE’s vetos. Good ole boys club!

I'm not a Landry fan at all but will vote for him 100× over any Democrat.

Jeff is a little too culture warriorish for me and too economically left leaning for me to get behind him now but it's still 100× better than even the most moderate Democrat.

The Sheriffs backed JBE. They are usually on the side of the money people.
