He flew home on a very long flight....my bet is pulmonary embolism from a DVT in his leg from sitting too long.

Does this sound accurate?

Radio traffic from response to Sen. Graham’s home: Emergency radio traffic indicates that Senator Lindsey Graham suffered chest pains before going into cardiac arrest Saturday night. Efforts to revive the South Carolina lawmaker were not successful. Graham died two days after his 71st birthday.

This is the second time within a month that the DC Fire & EMS Department was dispatched to the Capitol Hill home of a Republican U.S. Senator reported to be in cardiac arrest. The first was Senator Mitch McConnell from Kentucky on June 14th.

The radio traffic from LINK indicates that the 911 caller last night was a woman in Baltimore. The crew from Engine 7 arrived and could not get anyone to answer the door. They apparently forced entry into the home. The radio traffic gives the impression that Senator Graham may not have immediately been in cardiac arrest when they arrived, but there is no confirmation of that information. Here’s the unofficial timeline for the call:

· 8:27:34 Engine 7 and Medic 7 (a paramedic ambulance) were dispatched to Graham’s home on South Capitol Street SE (I’ve omitted the street numbers).
· 8:32:34 Engine 7 requested a callback to get someone inside to open the locked front door.
· 8:33:34 (timestamp missing on video) Dispatcher reported that the caller said she was not in the home and the door is unlocked.
· 8:34:15 Dispatcher reported that the caller asked if they knocked on the door, believing the patient would answer. Engine 7 responded, “Yes. Repeatedly.”
· 8:35:05 Dispatcher said the caller is coming from Baltimore. The dispatcher asked Engine 7 if they would like a ladder truck company to force entry and asked about the need for DC Police. Engine 7 said they will need police, but they could handle forcing entry into the home.
· 8:53:28 Engine 7 reported CPR was in progress “now” and requested an EMS supervisor (standard on cardiac arrest calls).
· 8:54:00 EMS 6, an EMS supervisor, was dispatched.
· 9:13:41 Battalion Chief 2 told the dispatcher to attach him to the run with Engine 7 (this is not routine on most cardiac arrest calls and is likely an indication of who the patient was).

I'm just now registering that it was Graham that passed away, not McConnell.

With Mitch and Lindsey dead, does the GOP even have a functional majority in the Senate in the short term?

51-47 to the GOP if McConnell remains hospitalized and is unable to vote. Or if he has died. That is how it stands until they are replaced. So yes, they still have a majority.

Good info here. Why wouldnt Lindsay call 911 himself but call a lady in Baltimore. Was he concerned and wanted to talk to a friend about what he was feeling?
This sounds like dvt and an embolism. You dont have much time to talk to anybody about how you feel.

Love him or hate him, his state wanted him to represent them in the Senate. All the chatter points to a fact that he was effective in many regards. RIP.

He loved Israel more than America. He was a coward who somehow loved war. I hope his partner finds comfort today but he won’t be missed.

He did some good… but I’ll never forget/forgive his attacks on Trump back in the day. Are we so far removed from remembering Trump wanting to post Lindsey’s phone number for the world to have? He’s a reach across the isle type. A pay me now, and I might help you later guy. He got his stardom for helping a local (Rather Large) construction families son get off murder charges. It happened in mid 90’s when Lindsey was an up and coming attorney. A lot of old “Thrift” money here in Pickens/Oconee county. He was part of the good ole boy SC establishment and now it’s officially dissolved. He opposed Tim Scott until it aligned with his picket. The list goes on and on. RIP “See property build track homes” Graham.

Definitely out of the norm for me.

Spunk overdose no doubt.

Lemme guess - Nancy Mace is about to jump into the special election or try to bribe her way into an appointment.

Maybe Nikki Haley?

Lindsey Graham Dead

I never take comfort in something bad happening to anybody, even when it's somebody who was part of a corrupt system and hurt the country.

For his sake, I hope God took mercy on him despite the fact that he was not a good person. But, that's above my pay grade.

I’d rather have her than transplant Evette. Maybe Tim Scott will consider sticking around now that Graham‘s gone?
