Let’s talk Texas turnout

Supposedly more people in Texas have already voted than voted for Donald Trump in 2016. Obviously that doesn’t include the 800k less votes Hillary got. But people seem to be making a big deal about this. Anybody have any analysis on what it could mean for the results?

Vote for someone that's against guns and oil, good luck Texas... about all you got there.

I really think anyone trying to analyze early / mail voting this time vs past elections is kinda fooling themselves.
Given all the talk about the Chyna Virus, attention to early voting, etc...this may very well be a special circumstance and no parallels can be honestly drawn from past to present.

We got our votes in Saturday. I saw my boss had a I voted tag on yesterday at work...so that's a handful of votes for the good guy.

So Harris County (Houston and surrounding areas) have already eclipsed the 2016 turnout in EV alone.

I think it means that more than 4,700,000 votes have already been cast in the 2020 Presidential election in Texas.
I don't see how this fact benefits either side.

75% is more likely fraud. Illegals vote in Harris County

Trump is up to 4.8 million votes in Texas counting mail in ballots , and early in person voting . His total last year counting mail in , early voting and day of election was 4.7 million , and he won the state by 9%. In short enthusiasm is in his side .

100%. People that previously voted on election day are now voting early.
Time will tell how man additional eligible voters are going to the polls this cycle.

Sure.
Trump wins by more than a half million votes. I'd say closer to 750.
Texas is mobilized on both sides. But the number favors DJT. Fear has motivated a lot of rural voters and Hispanics will vote for him at a higher rate than expected.

All yard signs in my neighborhood (Woodlands) were Trump a month ago. It's nearly even now. I would not have expected it. However, I'd rather know if there is Biden support than be surprised by it. Hopefully it mobilizes more Trump support to counteract.
I know every time the Texas Democrats call or text, I tell them I'm voting for Biden to do my part to lull them into a sense of false security.

I’ve got 3 Trump votes in my little Texas family yet to be cast. And I know my boss and his wife, and the other two people in my office and their spouses are all MAGA and yet to vote.

Anyone extrapolating trends from an election during a pandemic isn’t too bright

I agree. Who the hell knows at this point. I am voting early (tomorrow or Friday morning) in Texas. AS long as I don't get to vote more than that one time, the fact that I am voting early is meaningless as to the overall impact on any trend.
As I stated in other threads about early voting, unless the premise is democrats and in particular democrats of minority persuasion are too stupid or lazy to vote on voting day the early turn-out simply means people are voting on a different day.
Now IF turn-out for this election is way higher than the recent elections early voting may mean something, but again who is voting and who they are voting for is what matters.

Does that mean yards without signs got signs or that yards that once had Trump signs now have Biden signs?
