All they had to do was look at Amsterdam.

But they already knew this and did it anyway.

That isnt in the Dem playbook. They just always say "we will make it work in the US". See Bernie Sanders and his socialism push

Let's be clear on what happened here.

They decriminalized possession of illegally made substances. If they truly made heroin legal, like walk down to WalGreens and get some J&J heroin, this fentanyl deal wouldn't be happening.

Prohibition has never worked, ever. And it never will work.

Because the human brain from all walks of life naturally loves the massive release of dopamine.

You know what Portland REALLY needs?

Illegal Immigrants. One of you Texans need to call Abbot and get a dozen busses headed that way.

Not exactly. They look at where it's failed and say "Yeah, but that's because they didn't do it the right way. We will."

And then they'll say that over and over again when their own attempts fail, never learning the lesson. To them, their beliefs are reality and when reality tries to correct them, they just try all the harder.

It's the ultimate in pure ego driving wish-fulfillment.

Who cares? How many people die from alcohol every day? All people with addictions to mind altering substances end up ending their lives earlier than those that do not. At least with drug OD’s I don’t have to subsidize their heart, liver, and lung surgeries. They don’t hang around for decades sucking up medical resources.

Do you think there are a bunch of legitimate companies just itching to be able to produce and sell recreational use heroin? I have a hard time envisioning how exactly that logistically “works.” Do you grant them immunity for any potential claims?

I spent some time in Portland this past summer. The worst part of zigzagging my way around semi-comatose zombies was the flies that fed on the human shite scattered all over the sidewalks. It was a veritable swarm cloud over that part of the city. This was at 10 am. I went to the coast the next day and didn't step back into that hell hole until it was time to catch my flight home. The rest of Oregon was amazingly beautiful.

I’ll never understand it either.
