Lessons Learned?

With multiple incumbents perceived as anti-Trump, RINO, etc. getting sent packing this primary season, what do you think the lesson that will be learned is?
1) Trump is still very popular in the party and his endorsements matter more often than not
2) It is about representing your constituents, not yourself
3) Both
4) Neither/Something else

MAGA has even fewer policy positions now that they've given up on small government and America First, which makes it a weird nebulous blob of sorts, and it will be fascinating to see where it goes from here and how long until the supporters pull another 180 in time when the next political team/label comes around.
That's why this MDS era has been so fascinating for people like me.

The lesson is that Republican voters absolutely detest the idea of smaller government.

So does your mom.

Massie didn’t lose because he is pro small govt.
He lost because he ran an anti Israel campaign in an evangelical district

Serious question; Do you have Trump murals painted on your walls?

That's a big part of it.

I referenced abandoning America First
And he's always had that stance on interventionism. His district pulling a 180 is what it is and shows a lot about them

If you’re in a red state, you can’t win as an openly anti-Trump republican, especially not in a closed primary. Come November, we will see if that translates to pro Trump candidates defeating democrats in November. I believe that it will, but we will see.

Don't turn your back on your party and your constituents. MAGA'S primary bullet point during Trump's election was the border. Massie sealed his fate in 2019 and 2020 by blocking Trump's use of a national emergency declaration to fund the wall. He was also against expanding funding for ICE. Fark that coward.

What a silly point. It didn't affect him in 2020, 2022, or 2024

Agreed.....but he also used his political position for attention and really had no clear platform, other than trying to be popular.....it did not work for him!

Then why not just skip congress altogether, let POTUS write the bills, and every American gets to vote on them?

Bow to the King!
Massie lost because he always opposed good legislation because it wasn't perfect.
And the difference between perfect and good placed him out of office.

They are likely not OK with their representative voting contrary to their wishes on big ticket items that have overwhelming support from those constituents.
Then why not just skip congress altogether, let POTUS write the bills, and every American gets to vote on them?
You can likely get away with this a time or two, but it will eventually bite you in the arse.

Let's save the Country from the Democrats first and then work on the budget.
Every time the GOP needs to band together these righteous mother frickers screw us.
