It’s a rumor set to defuse the recall effort.
If people feel like she’ll be indicted or step down, they’ll lose interest in recalling her

She might step down as part of a pending indictment but the Feds won’t exchange prosecution for her quitting her job.

That was the tradeoff with Marc Morial, I think.

Negotiating? Naw, these politicians should not be allowed to negotiate their way out of punishment unless every single american citizen can do so just the same.

Great thought 20/39 years ago. We unfortunately no longer live in a country with an unbiased DOJ constantly working to cover up their never ending treasons and seditions upon the tax paying citizens of this once great nation.

Democrat, Black, Female. You are outside your damn mind if you think the feds will do anything to her.

They went after Karen Carter Peterson. The Biden DOJ. And she was very well connected in national Dem circles. Former chair of La Dem Party and the DNC Committeewoman for La. And friends with the mighty Stacy Abrams. Latoya means nothing to them.

The incompetent bitch never understood us, or had skin in the game. I SWEAR she was sent here to destroy this great city. I hope she quits, and leaves, and NEVER comes back, or goes to jail.
Elect somebody who loves the people and culture of NOLA... No more outsiders.

NOLA gonna NOLA. It’s a banana republic. A shuck and jive economy.

This 100%. Never in my life did I think NOLA would elect a transplant to the position of mayor. Desi may have not been the best person on the planet for the job, but she is a New Orleanian, and while all of them steal, locals leave enough meat on the bone to live.

LaToya destroyed the city because she isn’t from the city.

I want to know something though

How much of the NOLA electorate (because that’s who’s giving them shitty mayors) was born in Louisiana? As opposed to 50 or 100 years ago? They probably have way more born out of state residents than any other parish (for good and bad)

If the electorate is outsiders, then logically they’ll elect an outsider

So that would be what, 3 out of the 4 last mayors of Nola end up under federal indictment? Didn’t Morial get indicted for something?

And sometimes a base common criminal may actually be preferable to a true believer type.

I really think Moreno would be the final nail. The last thing New Orleans needs right now is to become some Petri dish for modern leftist whackadoodleness. That’s what Moreno will give you.
