That is the part of the world where the plague originated from. I don’t know why they were trying to research it in Odessa in the first place. /sarcasm

F**k I don’t want to deal with a second pandemic this decade. Just a reminder that the middle evil plague was transmitted by fleas but the pneumatic version of the plague is droplet transmitted.

Time for Operation Warp Speed 2.0 for a a new plague vaccine. Because the old one doesn’t protect against the pneumatic version of the disease.

Dip, what would the world look like if Russia had not invaded Ukraine?

Just look at any credible, objective description of this war. That's what Ukraine winning looks like.

Where's the uproar that Russia may have unleashed the next equivalent of the COVID -19 pandemic?
Patience, this story isn't finished. Although the Russians have put a media lockdown on the entire Irkutsk Region, the facts of what has happened are clear.

A research physician working with bubonic plague in a biological research lab would certainly have emergency vaccines available on site and would certainly know how to use them. The modern formalin-inactivated vaccine was developed in 1993 and is widely available and quite effective.

Yet in spite of this, she died within 48 hours. Forty-eight hours. Dead. Normal untreated mortality time frames for Yersinia pestis are far longer, due to a lengthy incubation period. Hell, you need a 72-hour period to just grow the culture for the diagnosis.

So if she died anyway and that quickly, what was the viral agent? Normal bubonic plague? Please.

Let's just pray that the victim or her body didn't come into contact with any fleas.

My vision? Why would anyone care about my vision? What matters is Putin's vision.

It's really very simple: the war ends when Ukraine inflicts enough death and humiliation on Russia that Putin gives up his dream of conquest and decides to negotiate peace.

That was the case on day one, and it's the case today.

Wrong. It is contagious before it is symptomatic.

Ukraine's surprise robot offensive exposes Russian vulnerability
quote:

A surprise Ukrainian robot offensive in the eastern Donbas region appears to have reversed over a year of Russian territorial gains, according to security experts, dealing a strategic blow to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s territorial ambitions.

Details of the Ukrainian counteroffensive, dubbed “Operation Vivaldi,” have started to come to light in recent weeks, offering rare insight into the fast-changing nature of frontline combat operations amid Russia’s full-scale invasion.

As part of the ongoing operation, which started in May, security experts said Ukraine’s Third Army Corps had been able to deploy large bomber drones and remote-controlled robots behind enemy lines around Lyman in the northern Donetsk Oblast, apparently catching Russian forces off guard.

Russian forces have been seeking to encircle Ukraine’s so-called fortress belt cities that make up the remaining Ukrainian-held territory in the region for the past 12 months.

The third phase of Operation Vivaldi, however, liberated an additional 51 square kilometers, taking the total area of territory retaken to 176 square kilometers, Ukrainian Brigadier-General Andrii Biletskyi said on Sept. 28. The latest phase of fighting inflicted over 2,000 Russian losses, with over 250 Russian soldiers taken prisoner, he added.

The experience of Operation ‘Vivaldi’ has demonstrated that the systematic replacement of human personnel with robots is changing the paradigm of modern warfare.
Serhii Kuzan
Chairman of the Ukrainian Security and Cooperation Center
Patrick Bolder, a defense expert and strategic advisor at the Hague Center for Strategic Studies (HCSS), described the offensive as a “big bloody nose” to Putin’s minimal war aim of seizing Ukraine’s Donbas region.

Alongside demonstrating an ability to keep details of the operation secret, running disinformation campaigns against Russia and orchestrating a months-long air operation to disrupt logistical supplies to the frontline, Bolder said Ukrainian forces had managed to secure control of the air in the Lyman area, denying Russia the use of its drones.

Ukrainian forces were then able to deploy their own drones to drop unmanned ground vehicles behind enemy lines to attack the Russian troops from behind, Bolder said, without endangering their own personnel.

“They put this together masterly,” Bolder said.

Don't forget that Tulsi double down on the biolab smear one last time as she was leaving office back in June:

Now it's pneumonic plague, a scarier version if possible.
quote:

US State Dept says it is “monitoring the situation closely” following reports of a fatal suspected pneumonic plague case in Russia, urging Moscow to share accurate information “quickly and openly.”
quote:

A DoS official: We are aware of reports of a fatal case of suspected pneumonic plague in Irkutsk Oblast, Russia. We are monitoring the situation closely with the CDC and our other interagency partners.”

Many details haven’t been confirmed, the official says, adding they are encouraging Russian authorities to share accurate information quickly and openly.
So how will we know how serious it is?
quote:

You'll know the plague issue in Russia is serious if Putin pulls out the 18 meter long Italian table.

Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces say their three-month Operation “Crimean Switch Off” has targeted 456 energy nodes across Russian-occupied territories and Russia since July 6. According to commander Robert Brovdi, USF units struck 44 energy facilities over the past 10 days alone: 17 in occupied Crimea, 14 in Donetsk region, five in Luhansk, six in Zaporizhzhia and one each in Kharkiv and Kherson regions.

Uh oh...
quote:

Over 2,000 people marched from Krasnopresnenskaya Zastava toward the Russian White House.

The permit said commemoration. The crowd said otherwise.

Chants recorded on the ground: • “Down with the Tsar” • “We want freedom” • “Free political prisoners” • “Honest elections” • “No political repression.”

The route itself was the message. Protesters walked toward the site where Yeltsin’s tanks settled a parliamentary standoff in 1993. All while denouncing the current system out loud. This directly compares the two.

The regime approved this rally because it was told the event would honor the dead. Instead it got a live demonstration against political repression, rigged elections, and the man at the top.

The second protest in days. The anniversary symbolism is doing work the organizers never had to spell out.

Notably absent from the chants: any mention of the war their taxes fund. That silence is its own statement about what Russian opposition still refuses to touch.

Putin’s response was predictable. Around 100 arrests.

Venezuela is the tell. Same playbook as Lukoil. Grab the reserves, let the family skim, and call it energy policy. The Iran war just made the cover story convenient.
quote:

Cutting off imagery to protect a refinery deal is the tell. Boehly and the Witkoff crowd are bidding on Lukoil assets, so every drone Ukraine flies now costs them money. Kyiv should treat that as confirmation the strikes are working.
quote:

Boehly is the lead bidder and a Trump donor, so the payout is already structured. Every refinery Ukraine takes offline is a line item they cant collect on.
quote:

Treasury gave buyers until November 21 to cut ties, so the clock is already running on the discount. Boehly and the Witkoff crowd are bidding on the wreckage, not the asset.

Since I was a child watching movies, I have always wondered why labs don't all have thick rubber floors and expensive, unbreakable test tubes and glass vessels. I asked my mom that back then and she said "then there wouldn't be a movie..."

Satellite analysis of Russia’s Ilsky refinery after the September 26 FP-1 drone strike indicates that all of its primary processing capacity was hit. At least six impacts were identified on equipment belonging to the AVT-5 and AVT-6 units, which provide most of the refinery’s processing capacity. The smaller AVT-3 unit burned extensively. Two additional impacts were identified on technical overpasses in the northern section, along with an oil spill in the tank farm.
