The very strong El Nino of 1976 caused a massive Russian crop failure and need to import massive amounts of grain from the USA.
That did include Ukraine's agriculture as well
I don't remember the exact number but I remember seeing that there are a lot of deaths during El Nino years because of that. Super El Nino even more so.

I'm not sure which is the stronger strategic lever: the long-range strike campaign taking out refineries, or the mid-range campaign that's isolating Crimea. But both are getting critical for Russia:

Yes Ukraine's defense of the fortress city Kostiantynivka (pre-war population 67k+) is collapsing, but Ukraine's full spectrum domination of English language social media continues unabated.

Ukraine is expanding the ability for foreign volunteers to join their army. How many in the thread are going to sign up? Any takers?

Zelenskyy calls opening of EU accession talks cluster significant support for Ukraine
Tetyana Oliynyk — 12 June, 21:33
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has welcomed the decision by EU member states to schedule intergovernmental conferences with Ukraine and Moldova for Monday 15 June.
Source: Zelenskyy on X (Twitter), as reported by European Pravda
Details: Zelenskyy first thanked everyone fighting for Ukraine, working for the Ukrainian state and helping defend its national interests. He also expressed gratitude to all EU partners and to each European leader "for this strong step for the sake of Europe".
Quote: "Ukraine is defending itself and, in doing so, all of Europe – the idea that European nations can live united, free, and in peace.
As we have said, Ukraine is doing what is necessary, and it is important that the EU is also keeping its word. The opening of the first cluster is significant political and moral support for our state and our people."
Details: The president added that all necessary steps had also been taken to open the remaining negotiating clusters.
"We also congratulate Moldova on this step, which we are taking together," Zelenskyy said.
Background:
On 12 June, the European Union officially confirmed the launch of accession negotiations with Ukraine.
Prior to that, Ukraine fulfilled the final requirement set by Hungary for the opening of the first accession talks cluster.

I discussed it two days ago. Russia controls about half the city right now and is continuing to advance. The loss of Kostaintynivka (congrats on using the correct Ukrainian spelling, by the way), would be a serious blow to Ukraine's goal of protecting Kramatorsk.
It's also just about the only area where Russia is advancing right now, while Ukraine has the edge on several fronts. And it's absolutely not as important as the growing problems Russia is facing as a result of Ukraine's mid-range and long-range strike campaigns.

Tulsi released the "BioLab" report and its not what the NPC think it is
DoD’s CTR Program began its biological work with Ukraine to reduce the risk posed by
the former Soviet Union’s illegal biological weapons program, which left Soviet
successor states with unsecured biological materials after the fall of the USSR. DoD’s
CTR program works with many partner countries to reduce the threat that pathogens
could be misused, stolen or accidentally released. DoD even worked closely with Russia
and within Russia in laboratories owned by Russia until 2014.

More details of last night's strike at Chonhar crossing.
The bridge strikes themselves were conducted using Fire Point systems. Various other assets were used, including Behemoth, Darts, and Flash Tag systems, which directly strike enemy equipment and conduct reconnaissance flights, providing better situational awareness and giving us a broader understanding of the enemy's activities.
