When Putin tells the Russian people that the West has plans to dismantle Russia
To be fair, he's only giving them half the story.
China plans to do the same. So we'll have to divide the place up. Maybe make the Urals the dividing line

There is no scenario where Russia just goes back to selling oil and gas to Europe like nothing ever happened.
Any settlement will include aubstantial reparations. The idea that Europe will fund the war machine that threatens to destroy them is ludicrous.
Okay. You seem to be ignoring the fact that they are buying from them NOW. I guess if you can ignore that you’ll ignore when they go back to pre-war levels, and that way you’ll never be wrong.

1%
Theyre buying 1% of their oil and gas from Russia.
5 years ago it was 35%.
Now it's 1%.

So, why are they buying that 1%.

u are a caricature of yourself. When Putin tells the Russian people that the West has plans to dismantle Russia into a hundred independent states it can isolate, pit against one another, and ultimately dominate and extract their resource wealth, he is telling them the truth
More resources for USA, sounds good to me. MAGA!

They have a deliberate phase out plan.
The roadmap is the EU’s strategy to remove Russian oil, gas and nuclear energy imports from EU markets in a gradual and coordinated way.
A historic political agreement to phase out Russian gas imports and prepare the phase out of Russian oil was achieved on the night of 2 December 2025 between the European Parliament and the Council.
As set out in the REPowerEU Roadmap, this will end the EU’s reliance on Russian energy and improve our energy security.
Key facts
since the beginning of the war, the EU’s dependency on Russian gas has fallen from 45% of overall imports to 12% in 2025
all imports of Russian coal have been banned by sanctions
oil imports have shrunk from 27% at the beginning of 2022, to 2% with only 2 EU countries importing Russian oil
the remaining 35 billion cubic meters of Russian gas still imported to the EU annually will be out of our markets in less than 2 years
the €10 billion that the EU spends on this gas per year will no longer finance Russia nor its aggression against Ukraine
REPowerEU – phase out of Russian energy imports

Some customers are just at the end of Russian pipelines and are taking years to develop alternatives. Like building pipelines to hook into LNG networks.
1%
Most people would see a market share reduced from 35% to 1% and say: That supplier is fricked.
You look at those numbers and say: That 1% is proof that things will be right back to normal in 2 years.
That's ridiculous.
Putin gambled that the war would be over so quickly that the EU would shrug its shoulders and keep going.
He was wrong. His entire army and over 1 million men lay scattered around eastern Ukraine, while his customers have cut him off. He's perma fricked. And he has perma fricked his people for the foreseeable future.
