As Lavrov said to his Indian audience, "We are trying to end this war that Ukraine started." He got laughed at.

Nobody is winning this war. Everyone is losing.

That’s exactly what I have been saying.
This war will have no winner unless you call Ukraine a winner for just surviving as a nation or Russia the winner just because they gained some land.

The truth is that neither side will be better off than they were in January of 2022.

Both sides have a chance to be better off in January of something like 2040 or 2050 than they would have been otherwise compared to January of 2022 though, even with current population issues. It just can't keep continuing to get worse for much longer and that still be true for either of them.

And an even greater chance to be worse off.

No one can predict with any certainty what the future will bring, but it’s hard to believe that losing hundreds of thousands of men and billions of dollars is going to increase your chances of advancing the quality of life for a people.

One thing is certain, Ukraine will be better off aligning with the EU than with broke arse Russia.

GOD THAT WAS A BEAUTIFUL MOMENT

It was so refreshing to see a country that is the relative ally to another country not get taken in by such open BS. (And yeah, that includes American allies, too)

This is strange...

According to Ukrainian Navy Spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk, the story of the Russian tanker Midvolga 2 seems more like a provocation than a valid incident. Pletenchuk noted conflicting reports from Russia, at first they said the tanker was sailing from Moscow to Georgia, then changed to claiming it left from Yalta. The strange 150-nautical-mile detour, shifting narratives, and the nature of the wreckage all suggest a staged provocation rather than a legitimate route or accident.

Don’t see many on video anymore at all. My guess is it’s probably true. They would probably tell you in the FPV age they’re rolling coffins anyway and they don’t need them. I don’t necessarily believe that but I think that’s what they’d say if you asked them where are all their tanks.

Tanks don't seem like a good ROI in this day in age. Russia might accidently be spending that resource at the last opportunity to spend it.

It is going to be sad if Russia wins a military victory and presses all of those Ukrainian soldiers into their army and uses them as shock troops to attack LeeB in the trenches of Lithuania.

Those private banks in Russia with no sanctions-proof overseas income have been technically insolvent since early this year, if not longer. But no government regulators will do anything about it. So the situation continues like a driverless car slowly rolling down a street.

Until public confidence finally fails. Not paying your mortgage knowing nothing will be done about it is a very strong failure in public confidence. The Ru regulators will never close these banks but no one's going to get any mortgage loans either. Whether the lights are on or not, no loans being made equals bank failure.

Russia no longer has a tank army to operate on the open plains which begin not for west of the present frontline. Soldiers marching across open fields or riding dirt bikes and golf carts are the easiest targets of all for artillery, automatic weapons, drones or aircraft. Geography matters a lot. Russia used up its tank army where tanks matter least.

Yeah, last I heard they were definitely making some new ones but I haven't seen any. But you don't see many from Ukraine either and I think its for the exact reason you laid out about them being rolling coffins.

Any kind of vehicle has been getting absolutely hammered.

They gotta get past CitizenK aka Rambo in Ukraine first. I heard he was on the frontlines apparently.

His superpower is that he can phone a friend and call in an airstrike whenever he is in trouble.

This is fair.

Russia's tankers are anything but gone, but they are now firmly in the Ukraine's crosshairs and it's now open season on them.
