This thread is dead again. Nobody cares about Ukraine and Russia
Eh. Say what you want about JB and the like, they made things interesting. I admit I came here every day just see what BS they posted. It was pure Russian propaganda, but it was interesting. I wonder what happened to him - did they send him to the front lines?

I wonder if this proximity fuse concept is still in use? This was our top secret invention to shoot down Kamikazes in WWII.

I didn't have a big issue with JB's posts here. He used shite sources constantly, but at least he would go back and forth with you on them. I could see someone convincing themselves that they weren't getting the truth from the western narrative and accepting those sources even if I personally didn't find them compelling.
But then when you start parroting CCP propaganda in addition to what he was doing here, I think its time to look into it a little more and probably get rid of the guy.
"IMO funding this war isn't good for the US, actually" as an argument is a world away from "Oh hell yeah, Russia and China are owning the west. SO BASED".

See, once again I find myself agreeing with you about the big picture but disagreeing on the details.
I get not trusting media narratives because I've seen them just be worthless too many times. But JB would post crap Russian websites that were sketchy AF and act like it was Reuters. I got to the point where I knew all I had to do was click on the site to be able to prove they were utter shite.
If he had actually wanted to have a debate, and not frame BS Russian propaganda as one instead, there are any number of decent non-western sites and new sources that he could have posted from. ION from India's actually a really good one - they have their own viewpoint and do a good job reporting about it and making decent, responsible arguments:
ION NEWS Youtube Channel
But I stopped talking to him as an adult when it became obvious just how bad it was - his talking points were clearly BS and I wasn't going to accept them.
LOL I just went through my old posts looking at me talking smack to him.
Those were the days....

Don't worry, your propagandists are at least smart enough to not get themselves banned.

That guy is unwatchable. The brutal combination of his voice, accent, and delivery is like a laboratory experiment of how to offend every audio esthetic my brain has. Absolutely impossible for me to understand how he has a job in media.

Russia uses 9M729 missiles in attacks on Ukraine — Reuters
October 31, 2025, 04:14 AM
Russia has used 9M729 cruise missiles against Ukraine in recent months — a weapon whose secret development once prompted U.S. President Donald Trump to abandon a key nuclear arms control pact with Moscow during his first term, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said on Oct. 31, according to Reuters.
It was the first confirmation that Russia has employed the 9M729 missile in combat, the news agency reported. Another senior Ukrainian official told Reuters that Russia has launched the weapon at least 23 times since August. Ukraine also recorded two launches in 2022.
Analysts estimate the 9M729 has a range of up to 2,500 kilometers and can carry either a nuclear or conventional warhead. One missile flew more than 1,200 kilometers to hit a target in Ukraine on Oct. 5, a military source said.
Experts noted that the missile’s mobility and long range allow Russia to strike from a safe distance and test its system in real combat conditions. The 9M729s are typically launched from Iskander systems, though the specific launcher may vary. Russia fields two types of ground-launched cruise missiles — the 9M728, with a range of up to 500 kilometers, and the 9M729, capable of reaching 1,500 kilometers — each with different dimensions and launchers, creating additional challenges for Ukraine’s air defenses, Defense Express reported.
Fragments recovered after an Oct. 5 strike on a residential building in the village of Lapaivka, located 600 kilometers from Russia’s border, confirmed the use of a 9M729 missile. Reuters verified photos of the debris, which showed two pieces of the weapon, including a cable tube marked “9M729.” One expert told the outlet that the shape of the tube, engine, and casing matched the 9M729, and the markings confirmed the identification.
The 9M729 missile led the U.S. to withdraw from the INF Treaty in 2019 after Washington said its range exceeded the 500-kilometer limit — a claim Russia denied, Reuters noted.
Western military analysts said Russia’s use of the 9M729 expands its arsenal for strikes on Ukraine and signals a broader threat to Europe. They warned the missile enables Russia to launch attacks deep from its own territory while evading Ukrainian air defenses, posing risks not only to Ukraine but to European security as a whole.

Why waste a missile like that on an apartment building? Thats a part of the Russian strategy that I have never understood.

No real changes. Except Russia taking another small village in the East. Ukraine does seem to be having some success in pushing Russia back in the village of Rodynske North of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad. Either this war needs to end or Ukraine needs to make their cities easier to spell

And what will it cost China and North Korea? Or we should ask, how much Russian real estate does $389 billion buy?

The surprise here is not that Putin hasn't budged an inch from his rediculous demands, we all know that the continuation of this war is the only thing that keeps him breathing. No, the surprise is that Trump can't see this. His obsession with winning the Nobel Peace Prize is blinding him to a reality that is abundantly clear by now.

ZELENSKY MAY BE WINNING OVER MAGA... AND PUTIN HATES IT
According to Heritage Foundation pollster Steven Moore and Ukraine Freedom Project director Colby Barrett, something no one saw coming is actually happening: MAGA is warming up to Zelensky.
The same crowd that once thought he was a deep-state villain may be suddenly like, “Wait… this guy might actually be a badass.” How?
Zelensky basically stopped playing defense and started playing offense. He ditched the CNN crowd and started talking directly to conservatives, popping up on Ben Shapiro’s show, sitting down with Bret Baier, and even showing up on Newsmax.
He even hosted a massive prayer breakfast in Kyiv, bringing together thousands of believers from the U.S., Ukraine, and beyond. Christian broadcaster Joel Rosenberg called it “a spiritual turning point.” And it’s reportedly paying off.
Polls show a 22-point surge in support for Ukraine among religious conservatives and an 18-point rise among churchgoing Republicans.
His approval rating among Trump voters has more than doubled in just 7 months.
Why the sudden lovefest? Zelensky stopped focusing on politics and started talking about winning. He’s been reminding everyone that Ukraine is actually wrecking Russia’s military: - Knocked out 35% of Russia’s Black Sea fleet - Destroyed 27% of its oil refining capacity - Took down $7 billion worth of aircraft with cheap, homegrown drones.
When Republican voters hear those numbers, half of them say Ukraine’s winning, and 85% support sending aid. Even Putin’s propaganda machine can’t spin that. Despite millions spent trying to turn conservatives against him, Zelensky’s message is cutting through, and the GOP base is starting to see Russia for what it is: the real threat.
Zelensky didn’t change who he is. He just figured out that to win the war, you’ve also got to win the room.
