'Historic precedent' — Lithuania to prosecute Russian POW for suspected war crimes in Ukraine

quote:

Ukraine handed over a Russian prisoner of war to Lithuania for criminal prosecution for war crimes, Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko said on Oct. 31.

This marks the first time since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion that Ukraine has handed over a Russian prisoner to a foreign country for criminal prosecution, setting what Kravchenko called a "historic and important precedent for the entire international justice system."

The Vilnius District Court, at the request of the Lithuanian prosecutor's office on Oct. 30, remanded the suspected Russian soldier into custody for three months.
quote:

The suspect was a senior sailor in the Russian military police who was captured by Ukrainian forces near the village of Robotyne in Ukraine's southeastern Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

The man is suspected of being involved in the torture of civilians in Melitopol.

One of his victims was a Lithuanian citizen who was in the city, which has been under Russian occupation since March 2022, on private business and had no connection to the military operations.
quote:

"For what he has done, he could end up in prison for life," Kravchenko wrote on Telegram.

The Kremlin payroll in the West - a handy chart to keep as future reference -

Yes, here's what we're all thinking - "Where's John Barron?".

We have to admit, it would at least be fun to see him roll out the prepared defenses / rationalizations for these shitbirds. That would be worth 75 posts alone.

Again we see a lot of action in and around Pokrovsk. Russian infantry is active in small groups infiltrating the battle lines; while Ukraine is counterattacking.

Off the battle field Trump has a decision to make regarding the Tomahawks and NATO has to decide how they should respond to the Russian use of nuclear capable missiles agsinst Ukraine.

quote]Key Takeaways
Ukrainian forces marginally advanced during recent counterattacks north of Pokrovsk as Russian forces continue to infiltrate into Pokrovsk and east of Myrnohrad (east of Pokrovsk).
The Pentagon approved the provision of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine on October 31, but the final decision remains with US President Donald Trump.
Russia and Belarus continue to threaten Europe with the future deployment of Oreshnik missiles to Belarus.
Ukraine continues to conduct long-range drone and missile strikes against Russian air defense and energy infrastructure.
Russian forces have repeatedly struck Ukraine with nuclear-capable 9M729 Novator ground-launched cruise missiles since August 2025, in apparent violation of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty.
A German court convicted several citizens of conspiring to commit acts of sabotage in Germany on behalf of Russia, and Lithuanian authorities closed the Vilnius Airport due to more aerial incursions from Belarusian airspace.
Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov recently appointed former First Deputy Trade and Industry Minister Vasily Osmakov as Deputy Minister of Defense.
Ukrainian forces advanced in the Dobropillya tactical area and near Pokrovsk. Russian forces advanced in the Kostyantynivka-Druzhkivka tactical area and near Pokrovsk.[/quote]

Yes he is. Morris is a multifaceted shitbird. Prediction? As Portugal has had an extradition treaty with the US since 1908, another move even further east will be in the cards for him. And that move may come sooner than later. His wife - if not implicated - may ask for the check at that point and ride spousal privilege back to the US. IF she is not implicated. But this kind of stupidity usually comes with co-conspirators, so stay tuned campers.

quote:

Ex-Fox & Friends co-host Clayton Morris has left the country amid more than two dozen lawsuits from investors who say he defrauded them in real estate deals involving properties in Indianapolis.

Morris, who previously resided in a $1.4 million home in New Jersey, has moved with his family to a coastal resort town Portugal, according to his wife's Facebook post.

In an email to IndyStar, Morris's wife and business partner, former MSNBC anchor Natali Morris, said they plan to continue fighting the lawsuits from abroad. They have denied responsibility for investor losses, instead blaming their Indianapolis business partner Bert Whalen and his company, Oceanpointe.
quote:

But investors and their attorneys expressed concern about the move.

"In my clients' opinion, innocent people don’t flee the country," said Jynell Berkshire, an Indianapolis real estate attorney who is representing several investors.

It appears to me that Russia’s efforts to take Pokrovsk by mid November may be paying off. Using weather, infiltrators, and nee tactics is slowly gaining them ground in the city despite Ukrainian counterattacks.

quote:

Key Takeaways
Russian forces are intensifying offensive operations in and around Pokrovsk to seize the town.
Ukrainian forces conducted a heliborne air assault operation west of Pokrovsk on October 31.
Close combat, urban terrain, and weather conditions are impacting Ukrainian and Russian drone warfare and Russian infiltration tactics in and around Pokrovsk.
Ukrainian forces struck Russian oil infrastructure in Moscow Oblast on the night of October 31 to November 1.
Polish fighter jets intercepted a Russian reconnaissance aircraft over the Baltic Sea for the third time in three days, and German officials reported an unidentified drone incursion near the Berlin Brandenburg Airport. Russian authorities continue cracking down on Russian social media sources who share insider information about the Kremlin and Russian security services.
Ukrainian forces recently advanced near Lyman. Russian forces recently advanced near Velykyi Burluk, Kupyansk, and Pokrovsk.

Ukraine held Pokrovsk for a year longer than a lot of people thought. But it was inevitable—the Ukrainians simply don't have enough troops and refuse to take the political measures necessary to draft them.

The FP-2 is based on the design of the FP-1 long-range drone, used to strike targets in the Russian rear. Its range, however, has been reduced from 1,400 km to 200 km, while the warhead has been increased to 105 kg.

The drone is available with autonomous guidance for strikes on stationary targets, as well as a version that allows manual control via radio to hit moving targets.
